Miyamoto Musashi speaks..

Ubiquity by Rin

(English translation)

The old man in his refuge
Just gazed into the distance
The baby cries
Just longing for its mother's warmth
It's born atoning
For someone's sins and someone's mistakes
There is no future that can't be saved
"Now" quietly becomes the past
Stringing together empty words
Lies made of empty words
In the falling rain
Something rises up and disappears

You stay in bed all morning
Just passing the time
Life is too short
And there's retaliation
Even if it's wrong, there's no need
To get better at giving up
No one can understand
The things you've experienced
The days go by
And you still don't have a place to call your own
In the falling rain
Something changes shape

In the falling rain
Something rises up and disappears
Lies made of empty words...
In the falling rain
Something changes shape

Thanks, that is so true.

How is it that I've never read this one?

Or, if I've read it, how could I have forgotten?

It was even on a recommended reading list at my business school. Can't say that I understood everything he wrote through the translation I had, though.

Eiji Yoshikawa's fictionalized account of his life was also very enjoyable.
