Kerry: no matter what we will continue our policy, we will destroy ISIL.

(9,314 posts)As I was sitting here wondering if Dems were eyeballing Kerry as a possible late entry into the 2016 race. We saw them start rumors about Gore; we watch them trying to coax the still-grieving Biden into the race. All of this because Hillary's numbers appear to be sagging and they absolutely do not want a President Sanders. So this is what I am thinking and I hear Colbert on your clip asking the question.
Coincidence Kerry steps out and makes this appearance? or not - because in politics there are no coincidences....

PS please stop with the mind reading on DU. It will fry your brain.

Either way, it's still early yet. Who the Dem nominee will be is yet to be determined. I like Sanders, and I like Kerry and I will vote for Hillary if she is the nominee.
PS...brain already fried...so.......sew.

(10,044 posts)I expected him to be real stiff and stuffy, but he was at ease, friendly, and I think Colbert was more nervous.
Colbert has to settle down. The reason I enjoyed David so much was that it was late, I'd be tired, and was so glad to see Letterman, with his silly looks, pranks with the Qcard holder, etc.
Colbert is trying too hard. It was the nothing that Letterman did, but he did it so well. We didn't expect him to do dance routines like the Rockettes, so I have to assume he does it because he enjoys it.
But he shined with Biden and Kerry....asked the right questions..

(9,314 posts)When I see and hear a politician conduct himself or herself in a dignified manner, answering all questions, smiling though and being pleasant, it is like a antidote to what I see and hear from the Republicans. Generally speaking, I am proud of our Democratic representatives, and Kerry personally has such a record of achievement, he deserves a lot of respect.
I think Colbert is just so damn happy to be on that show and to have landed that spot, his enthusiasm knows no boundaries. I think he is doing a wonderful job.
I liked Letterman a lot. I hope Colbert invites him on from time to time! Wouldn't that be great (and gracious).

(10,044 posts)He knows the topics he discussed with Kerry, so it follows that he's a news junkie, just as he was when he was a "right-winger."
And he asked questions and makes remarks that are not ultra flattering and lets the guest figure out how to get out of it.
Can't remember what the remark was, but Kerry just smiled and rolled with it...
I happened to catch the Daily Show by accident (because of football) and I like the new guy that John Stewart selected to take his place. Can't think of his name, but he's an up n'comer.
