Here's who invited Kim Davis to meet the pope

According to an official Vatican statement, Kim Davis was among "several dozen persons" attending a reception at the Vatican embassy, "the pope did not enter into the details of the situation," and "his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support."

Moreover, it seems that the pope did not request Kim Davis be invited.

According to press reports, one man was likely responsible for Davis's invitation: Carlo Maria Vigano, a conservative church official who was appointed by Pope Benedict as Vatican ambassador to the United States (formally called the "apostolic nuncio&quot .

The link is to a petition calling for the resignation of Vigano. This is just where I found the tidbit of information...

during her "meeting" with the Pope.

I've seen similar events with people of notoriety. It's barely more than a "Glad to see you. Thank you for your efforts. Please accept my handshake/token of my appreciation."

From that, Davis & Co. apparently blew this up to be something of a mini-summit. Just like they did with that event in Peru.

For someone who frames herself as being so devoutly religious, Davis and her posse seem to forget that God frowns on vanity, lying, divorce, adultery and the other stunts she's been pulling during her life.

Between her, her sleazeball lawyer and the RW money machine bankrolling her, it's no surprise that those RW "Christians", capable of conning Jesus Himself if they could, orchestrated yet another hoax, only to be busted shortly afterwards.

Nor can I believe the way so many of us DUers can fall for such a RW stunt designed to discredit His Holiness and make him out to be the hypocrites the fundagelicals and ultraconservative Catholics are. I smelled a rat from the getgo; it looks as if my intuition was correct.

When will the RW Christianist crime wave come to an end?

What is the significance of it for you, that you post the link twice? I read it & don't see that anything real came out of it.
