If this is an average day 50 Americans will take their own lives with a firearm

14 of them will be veterans.

I wish that got the attention that spree killings did. This is a count that demonstrably can come down, and it's 2/3rds of gun deaths. Twice as many Americans are shot by themselves as by someone else. Plus this touches everybody's wheelhouse: gun availability, mental health, culture. This is something I would think we could all come up with some ideas about.
