MSNBC could and will show re-runs of Gilligan's Island 24/7 before it would appeall to intellects again .

There is nothing I would love more than to be able to turn on MSNBC and see Olbermann there again, so I am just going to wait to see if this story has legs.

However, I also hope they at least keep Chris Hayes on. He doesn't deserve to lose his job. Why didn't they slide him into the 7 pm slot? Chuck Todd would probably be relieved.

I don't quite buy it...

as much as keith provides a strong liberal voice, its wrong to bump chris hayes, who won an emmy and is also a progressive voice on a network that is purging the progressive voices. plus, olbermann will never accede to management demands to shill for their agenda, which means two or three months tops before a high profile flame out.

It is awful to think that we'd lose Chris for Keith. I think Chris does a fantastic job, and though I disagree with him on some things (I feel he is too soft in a couple of areas), he's a strong liberal voice.

I mean, really, what would we be gaining by losing Chris? Is Keith somehow MORE liberal? I don't think so. The only difference would be one of tone, and well... as you point out...

I have three favorite MSNBC Hosts: Chris, Rachel, and MHP.

I'm so-so on Lawrence (I think he's a better guest than a host), and my favorite "straight news" (no pun intended) Host is Thomas Roberts.

I like some of the others as well, such as Alex and Joy.

Honestly, if I was going to re-hire Keith, I would knock off Lawrence, or I would put him on with a new format on the weekends. If it were to go on the weekends, I would knock off Up with Steve, and pair Keith with two other strong aggressive liberals, and do a format similar to Morning Joe.

just louder about his liberal ness. I like the idea of bumping Lawrence to put Keith at 10 PM if they were going to do it. His rather intense approach might work better later in the evening.

i was disappointed but not surprised that joy reids show was taken away. she is truly one of the smartest analysts that network has, and she does a great job of presenting her position without being too partisan, even though she is clearly a liberal. and her instant recall of history in general and political history blows my mind.

very interesting idea about the possibility of Keith being on with other people as cohosts. I have seen him interact with Matthews and others when they were doing political coverage, and he seems to do well with it. And having other people around him might keep his temper in check, at least while he's on the air.

but yeah, I'd really hate to see Chris Hayes get the boot.

Get rid of "Chuck Todd, have also returned to the network to provide a more balanced approach." balanced approach...oh please! Do keep Joe early early early in the morning like maybe 3 am.
