Usher and Nas target police brutality with powerful interactive video

Singer and rapper sound off about police brutality in a forceful new song, that’s accompanied by an equally alarming interactive video

Usher and Nas have teamed up for a powerful new interactive video that dares viewers to turn away from the faces of dozens of black Americans who died at the hands of law enforcement.

I am no prison commodity, not just a body you throw in a cell,” Nas raps.

Usher at one point sings: “We’re still in chains. You put the shame on us.”

The interactive video is equally as confrontational.

After permitting Tidal access to your computer’s webcam (in either Firefox or Chrome), the video pauses for extended periods of time on the faces of Trayvon Martin, Rekia Boyd, Sean Bell and other African American people whose lives ended under suspicious circumstances.

If you look away or let your eyes wander, the video pauses, accompanied by the words: “Don’t look away.”

If you switch to another tab or window, the music and video automatically stop. The effect is undeniably eerie.
