(30,793 posts)There was a 9/11 committee. I'd like to see the comparison of time and money spent on each. I'm betting Benghazi wins.

(14,230 posts)They both insisted that they not be sworn in or they would simply refuse to appear at all.
These are actions of people with something to hide.

(27,247 posts)And Bush made up that bullshit story about seeing the first attack live ("that's one lousy pilot" on a TV in a hallway at the school (which was "obviously on" , but when the first attack occurred he was on his way to the school. And the second attack occurred while he was in the classroom, so he couldn't have seen that one live, either.

(14,177 posts)If they show this much concern over 9/11 then it might and probably would follow that they have to be concerned about the IWR and that might show how the IWR was orchestrated right after 9/11 and possibly before.

911 just made it sooooo much easier to sell their pile of warmongering crap to the other neocons

(14,177 posts)I just don't know how detailed or how they planned to bring this stuff about. But, in all honesty I think that the reason they are focused on Hillary is to keep the focus off of 9/11 and by extension the IWR.

(12,655 posts)but i wonder if by pressing benghazi so hard if they are unwittingly setting up a precedent for the investigation of the iraq war, torture, all the pnac stuff they would rather avoid.

(14,177 posts)I wish it were so. But, Democrats don't ever play that way. And most people are distracted by shiney things. Not that there is anything wrong with that, I love sparkly stuff. But, this is just a distraction IMO and it will work sad to say.

(12,655 posts)giving the war a wave and not even trying to investigate
shameful.

(14,177 posts)The GOP proved it right after Obama was elected and they all the sudden became doves. That proves the war was about nothing other than othering people in the Middle East and having an excuse to kill them and destabilize the region. Of course, that is to keep them in power as well. And it worked for a while.
