According to a new report from the Social Security Administration, released today, 130, 536 or .08% (yes, that is correct, less than one tenth of one percent) of working Americans make a million dollars or more a year.
I would assume that number does not include those that live off capital gains or inheritance alone as they do not work or contribute to SSI.
Report here https://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/netcomp.cgi?year=2014|
Based on median incomes, collectively, the bottom 99.92% make $6,845,746 a year (all incomes less than a million dollars, combined, a year)
The top .08% median incomes, collectively, make $159,315,184 a year
23 times more a year than the bottom 99.92% combined
Think hard when you vote in every election.
I'd like to edit and admend my statement about voting. In retrospect, I am honestly not sure we can "vote" our way into a resolution to this fucked up situation. So I ask, can we??
