If her poll numbers don't go through the roof, I'll need to get a pair of "Oops I crapped my pants!"

I actually lost respect for her when she knuckled under to pressure to stop being Hillary Rodham, and had to be Hillary (Rodham) Clinton.

Women should NOT be pressured to change their names at marriage.

Several years ago, a young niece of mine was getting married, and I asked her if she was going to change her last name. She replied, "Of course! It's so much easier!" I pointed out to her that in 25 years of marriage, never having changed my last name, there was one and only one time when it was an issue. Here's the story: We'd gone out to eat. My husband left the credit card at the restaurant, which he discovered the next day, and so he called the restaurant. They had the card. My wife will pick it up, he told them. When I got to the restaurant they of course wanted ID. Mine was in my own name, which I'll call Sheila Smith. He was Mark Johnson (not his real name). They were understandably reluctant to give me his credit card. So I thought for a moment, and then pulled out my check book. It showed both Sheila Smith and Mark Johnson residing at the address that was on my driver's license. They gave me the credit card.

Women should keep their own names throughout life.

I consider it a bit insulting to get someone's name wrong.

All my life I've contended with people who call me Shirley, not Sheila.

And while I won't post my exact last name here, again it's one that isn't very common so people get it wrong all the time. As a consequence I'm extremely sensitive to names, and try very hard to get them right.

Sheila, not Shirley.

Either irate, crying, or both. I don't handle nasty accusations and prolonged questioning well at all, and that's with people I actually love. I can't imagine being questioned by "haters" for 11 hours. That's crazy!
