Known for his outspoken style, U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson was mum Thursday when POLITICO asked about an hours-long meeting he and his attorney had with a congressional ethics investigator examining the way the Democrat handled a network of hedge funds.
Grayson, a U.S. Senate candidate, didnt deny the meeting with the Office of Congressional Ethics investigator the day before but instead argued about whether he could talk about it....
The self-described congressman with guts also refused to comment about why his Senate campaign last quarter paid about $15,000 for legal services to Akerman Senterfitt. A lawyer from the firm represented Grayson in his Wednesday meeting with the ethics investigator...
On Thursday, Grayson wouldn't discuss his interview with the congressional ethics investigator. He said a POLITICO reporter should double-check the rules before asking him to discuss the meeting....
That last comment struck Washington ethics lawyer Kenneth Gross as particularly odd. He said that when reporters ask questions in interviews, its not an act of suborning someone to commit an unethical or criminal act.....

Alan Grayson was already an incredibly flawed candidate, now a dark ethical cloud surrounds him as well.
Nominating Grayson would be a huge mistake, and would throw away a great pickup opportunity in a year that we need every seat to win back the Senate majority.

(14,255 posts)2. I will not be voting for a DINO, sorry.
Murphy was GOP until 2012. Only changed in order to run against another republican. One of three Dems to vote FOR the Benghazi committee. I don't have to live with Grayson, but I do have to live with the votes I think either candidate will make, and I choose Grayson.
