Freddie Gray's Mother Attempts Suicide

Gloria Darden, the mother of a (sic) Freddie Gray has attempted suicide, USA Today is reporting. Gray's death in police custody prompted charges against police officers in Baltimore. Gray was 25-years-old.

According to reports, Darden was undergoing psychiatric evaluation Thursday evening after the Wednesday eveneing (sic) suicide attempt.

Darden suffered superficial wounds in the attempt and was taken to a nearby hospital, but no surgery or stitches were necessary.

Gray's death spurred widespread protests in Baltimore and in other cities.

but even that change still won't bring her son back. I can't imagine the pain she must be in.

I hope she can find a reason to live. Having experienced murder in my own family, I know first hand the horrible mix of emotions few can begin to start sorting out for months. Losing a child is the worst pain of all.

My wish is that she's surrounded by people who love her and will support her through this.
