Democrats Now Favored to Win Senate

Democrats Now Favored to Win Senate

https://politicalwire.com/2016/03/08/democrats-favored-to-win-senate/

"SNIP..............

Stuart Rothenberg: “With Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz seemingly positioned to fight it out for the Republican presidential nomination, Democrats are now poised to take over the Senate in November.”

“The two Republicans still in the race who could help their party’s Senate prospects, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Ohio Gov. John Kasich, continue to flounder. While a deadlocked GOP convention in Cleveland could, at least in theory, nominate a candidate with broad appeal and low enough negatives to revive the party’s Senate prospects, that development is both a long way in the future and a long shot.”

“No, there is little hard evidence yet that a huge Democratic electoral wave has started to develop and at this point, Democratic control of the Senate is not yet inevitable. But that should not obscure the fact that a fundamental shift has occurred in the electoral cycle over the past six weeks.”

The Cook Political Report has updated Senate race rankings.

Now THAT is something to work for!!!
It is, however, imperative for Dems to put up a sharp, qualified candidate that will bring out the voters to push for someone who will fight for THEM (good-bye, oil-corporate-warmonger Toomey lovers!).

REASON FOR EDIT: I forgot to add the "TEA-BAG NUTS!" (or is it Tea NUT-BAGS!)

Sestak, McGinty, and Fetterman.

At this point, Sestak is leading in the polls. He very nearly beat Toomey in 2010, a very Republican year.
I feel confident that Sestak will beat him this time around, if the gets the nom.

Despite Admiral Sestak running a great campaign, Toomey beat Sestak last time because of the money advantage. This time, Toomey will have a HUGE campaign fund advantage.

snip> "He also predicted that Toomey could have more than $10 million by the time a Democratic primary ends, while Sestak may have to fight just to win the nomination."

http://articles.philly.com/2015-04-23/news/61422406_1_democrat-joe-sestak-toomey-fund-raiser-campaign-funds

Toomey is also getting a lot of dark money from the Koch bros. Toomey has accepted nearly $60,000 in Koch cash, and has a 96% rating from Koch group Americans for Prosperity.

Katie McGinty was supposed to be the one on the Democratic side who was going to have the fundraising advantage, but we've heard little from her campaign so far. It makes you wonder what is going on.

Of course we will retake the senate, hopefully by such a margin as to make it veto proof. The nation is center left according to all the polls but the right has become so extreme that few really want the candidates they vote for but they have no choice as it's all the republicans have to offer. A democratic president and a veto proof senate majority is a big start to making this country by, of and for the people again. When people call for smaller government it's sub speak for let the billionaires run it all. Government is only as big as it needs to be to protect us from domination of the greedy few. WE will take back the senate.

WI (Johnson), IL (Kirk), PA (Tumor... Toomey), FL, NH (Ayotte), IN (Coats), OH (Portman), AZ (McCain), KY (Paul), LA, NC (Burr)

I think those are the only states we have a 40% or greater chance of winning.
If McCain loses to a teahadist then AZ is likely in play. If McCain holds in the primary, he'll likely carry the state

Of all the Republicans up for re-election, the one I am best at accepting is Murkowski.

I would add Mike Crapo to Republicans I am okay if they win. Can't stand the guy, but the Dems are not running anyone and the only other declared candidate is Pro-Life (formerly Marvin Richardson). Yes, the fuck actually legally changed his name

as important to win the Senate and the House as the POTUS.

I want Sanders to be the next POTUS and hope that one of his priorities is to maximize Senate and House gains in 2016 plus gains in State legislatures too.

The DNC needs to be seriously rebooted so that the Democratic Party is again a peoples' and not money party.

Now they will have to evaluate the value of the overwhelming small donor whose donations add up to millions monthly.
2 ways to get money out of elections...1. Is to regulate donations. 2. Is to regulate how much can be charged, how often one can use our media (we all own the air waves...they just rent space) and how long an election season can last. Trump is making money for CBS so limit the amount of hours he can be on CBS.

Would likely win it back in 2018 with Clinton or Sanders in the White House, 25 Democratic seats and only 8 Republican seats are up in 2018.

In 2016 we are likely to lose Harry Reid's Nevada Senate seat to Joe Heck and there are around 5 likely Democratic pickups so it will be tight.

But even without that, President Sanders will show the country what a truly progressive Prez can do without needing anything from Congress. It'll become clear to everybody how much the excuse of having one's hands tied by Republicans has been used to mask conflicts of interest and conservative agendas.
