Flint burglary where water files stored 'an inside job,' police chief says

FLINT, MI -- Mystery still surrounds an unsolved December break-in at an executive office inside City Hall where Flint water files were kept.

As of Friday, March 18, there were still no suspects in the case, and officials say it may never be known what -- other than a TV -- was taken.

But the city's new police chief Tim Johnson says it's too suspicious that there was a break-in where important documents were kept, just as investigations began heating up and decision makers were beginning to be held accountable.

"It was definitely an inside job. The power cord (to the TV) wasn't even taken. The average drug user knows that you'd need the power cord to be able to pawn it," Johnson said.

The office was not assigned to any city employees at the time of the break-in, city officials have said.

Let's hope this investigation is not dropped.
There ought to be plenty of public queries and scrutiny on this.

I stole it from an article here- I think the line was uttered by a 7 or 8 year old. Yes, that's it. It was from a video of kids reacting to watching Donald Trump.

... there's probably no backup.

It was one of those jaw-dropping moments when Rachel showed film of the office where the customer records are kept. All the information -- addresses, names, everything -- is written on cards in ink, or sometimes typed, and stored in file drawers in a room of file cabinets. Nothing -- nothing -- is computerized for retrieval.

....and the goddamned governor of the state took the advice of ALEC on how to save money by switching their water from the glacial lake to the industrially polluted river.

That's how the poor wretches got in this fix. Afew years ago they had safe clean water. Now they have water that according to Rachel is rated more appropriately as toxic runoff.
