whilst there are multiple computer groups (open source, mac, windows and so on)

is there any interest in a 'computer privacy and redundancy' thread

topic being
encryption (local (hard drive) email and sending and transmitting (tor ssh vpn))
and mesh networks (networks that work even when large amounts of infrastructure fail)
