Former head of US special forces admits: Islamic State would not exist if Bush didn’t invade Iraq

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn told the German newspaper Der Spiegel that Americans allowed their anger of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to lead them into disastrous military policies that failed to address the root causes of terrorism — and actually helped create new and more brutal terrorists.

up to The Hague for trial as war criminals, that maybe we could put a stop to some of this. But, now with this bombastic
a$$hole Trump stirring up more hatred, I fear not even giving up the Bush/Cheney cabal would
have any effect.

It saddens me so much to see all the hatred in the world. How are we ever going to change this?

How hard it is to learn that love (which is free) will never win out against profits (which is gained by the blood of the poor). It is the way the human race seems to be. Otherwise, somewhere at least a few millennium ago we would have wised up to the long con.

Love is magic, but accountability is what pays the bills.

they strong armed their way into the WH. The PNAC manifesto lays it all out, and they were brash enough to publish it on their website. However, our lazy complicit media never went there, never shone a light on what was going on. Instead they became cheerleaders for a war based on lies, and the gullible, uninformed American public went along. Anyone who raised a dissenting voice was silenced or ridiculed.

You can't destabilize an entire region and expect a good result. Bernie cautioned about unintended consequences on the floor of Congress before voting "no," but his and other anti-war voices were drowned out amidst cheers of U-S-A U-S-A.

We can't escape our share of the responsibility. Those who carry out senseless violence against civilians - whether it be in Brussels in 2016 or Baghdad in 2003 - are ultimately to blame.

Not sure why killing people who had literally nothing to do with the war in Iraq, is somehow justified by what we did.

Violence is never the answer.

In some peoples eyes what happened today will only give some justification for us to keep bombing the middle east.

Rest assured that the survivors of the genocide associated with that illegal invasion and occupation wonder why people who like that phrase have no problem killing people in their homelands.
