Bush and Cheney's arrogance in invading Iraq, a country that had nothing to do with 911, has destablized the Middle East, and by etension the world, as predicted by the experts before the Iraq invasion, and the wold is still paying in blood and money for that gigantic mistake. The terrorists were given thousands of easy recruits and propaganda success with Bush's idiotic invasion of Iraq and hundreds of thousands of innocents are paying in lives and limbs because of that decision. Today's terrorist attack in Brussels and many others before it were all facilitated by terrorists whose ranks swelled after Bush/Cheney idiotically invaded Iraq and fired the entire Iraqi army (trained and experienced), who went into the arms of the waiting underground terrorist groups.
Hillary Clinton voted for the invasion of Iraq and supported Bush at the time...tells you everything you need to know about her judgement capability. They never thought out the consequences of invading a country whose dictator was keeping in check all of the extreme elements that are now well organized and spread through the region. Bush had to prove his manhood to Daddy and get that evil Saddam, the consequences to innocents and the world be damned.Really sad that someone that had publicly supported Bush/Cheney in one of the most consequential mis adventures in Middle East might just become the Democratic nominee for President. Go figure.

she turned a bloody punchline to Cheney putting a mike in the Resolute Desk and saying God wanted America to go into Iraq into sage, national policy that a thundering majority of the Senate could agree on

(6,383 posts)Cheney went against his own advice. After the first Gulf War he deflected criticism in the G. H. W. B administration for not "finishing the job" and ridding of Hussein and taking Baghdad. He stated in doing so would disrupt the entire region.
Then when Jr. gets in, he does exactly the opposite of what he stated. Makes me wonder, maybe he did advocate going "all in" during the first war but was on the losing side.
