"We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized," the Republican presidential candidate said in a statement laying out how he would respond to terrorism.
Cruz's comments on Tuesday echo statements from some conservatives following the terrorist attacks in Paris last year. After Donald Trump said he would be willing to shut down mosques in an effort to combat terrorism, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said he would be open to closing "any place where radicals are being inspired."
In his Tuesday statement, Cruz also called for the U.S. to stop accepting refugees from countries with large presences from groups like the Islamic State and al Qaeda and for the government to "secure the southern border to prevent terrorist infiltration."

(4,176 posts)We have a chance to avoid a very ugly war on our own streets and a chance to avoid possibly World War Three, in November.
One political party wants war at home and abroad and will start it instantly, one wont.

(8,593 posts)Based on HRC's current policy stance, she is as inclined to engulf us in a world war than than her Teapublican counterparts.
Based on her leanings in favor of regime change in places like countries in Central America and the ME, specifically Honduras and Syria, it is very disturbing.
Her desire to create a no fly zone in Syria is so reckless and so likely to put us in direct conflict with Russia that no one is doing it or has any desire to do it but her and the leading teapublicans running for president. Seriously, if Cruz thinks it's a good idea than that alone should give you pause.
Her direct involvement in the overthrow of a democratically elected government in Honduras is disturbing to say the least. That point is not debatable, she admitted it in the hard copy version of her own book and then removed it in the paperback edition.
Her seeming eagerness to sacrifice others lives so recklessly, so much so that she shares common military strategy as people like Cruz and tRump, gives me the greatest pause on her as a candidate.

Muslims live everywhere, but not in specific neighborhoods.

(4,959 posts)simply because you and some of your neighbors are Muslim, doesn't contribute to radicalization at all.
