Chick-fil-A, Round 2
Chick-fil-A is moving forward on plans to open its second Manhattan location near West 46th Street and Sixth Avenue on April 2.
The fast-food chain said that further details about speed-of-service innovation, local food sourcing [and] food waste prevention efforts will be announced closer to that time.
Chick-fil-A is also promising the new location will be held to the highest food-safety standards. The chain garnered attention last year when it voluntarily shut down its first full-scale Manhattan location for a brief period after a city inspector found food-safety violations.
That location now has a posted C rating, a rarity among New York restaurants, but the chain said it is continuing to address the issue with new monitoring systems and other measures.

(7,107 posts)When there is a plethora of great places to eat there, why would anyone choose a crappy chain restaurant?

(29,503 posts)Fancy places can afford it, and the big burger chains can, too - I'm not sure how a franchise agreement is structured, but I presume corporate headquarters absorbs the cost of renting/leasing...? So that all you have in Midtown is $$$$ and burger chains.

(135,425 posts)You've got to know what's good and affordable to go to places that are good and affordable.
Chain restaurants are quick and convenient. And cheap. If you have a half hour for lunch, them's the place.
I'll bet that CFA will do well--their chicken is like crack with that buttermilk pickle thing they have going on.
