Trump has gotten some bad press. Wonder if any capitalist is collecting them all for a book.

I was listening today to the Thom Hartmann show on the way home and he played the great speech by Eisenhower warning about the military industrial complex. in that speech also was a warning against depleting the resources of the country so our children and grandchildren would have less, and he also said that we should come together with respect and love. this is the guy who helped win World War II, and who knew war intimately. He would be incensed to see how events like this are being used to transform the world. (This is exactly what the terrorists want -- to draw us into a larger conflict in the Middle East.)

Ike's speech is here:

I remember growing up in the fifties and practicing the duck and cover drills at school in Hawaii. At that time we were in a nuclear stand-off with the Russians and that was a real existential threat to life on earth. These terrorist attacks -- awful for the victims - are not existential threats to the world or to the United States. But if we act as if these were serious threats, not only would we be doing what the terrorists want, but we will squander our opportunities to do good things.

Obama said that there is no way to prevent all terrorist activities, and he is right, short of blowing up the planet.

Too damned many of our leaders and all of the Republicans are juvenile beyond belief.

Go Bernie!

as Mark Twain said, "If you can think of only one way to spell a word, that indicates a paucity of creativity!" (Or something like that, but I sure, sure like your image of Mark Twain!)

Again, thanks for your correction!

Go Bernie!!
