Just when you're getting your spring blood flowing they bring back winter!

It drives me nuts every year.

We have humid cold winters, and every single time the wind comes from the north, knees and hands complain.
Don't need a weatherman.
Warm humid summers are not that bad.

and was greeted by a "hazardous" air warning because of high winds and dust. Oh well, maybe tomorrow. My joints are killing me, too.

Springtime in the Rockies. It can suck.

Down here in Lakewood we were going to start cleaning out the irrigation ditch tomorrow to get ready for whenever the water started flowing. I guess not! It's so much harder when the leaves and silt are mucky from rain and snow. Pfui.

back when there wasn't much between Garrison and Kipling.

One winter day Mom panicked when she couldn't see us in the back yard -- we'd made tunnels under the snow and giggled when she kept calling louder. Another winter Dad turned the entire back yard into a skating rink; it lasted December to the end of March.

The times they are a'changing, yeah?

I have a friend who remembers coming in from Denver to go berry picking along Wadsworth.

Btw, we're in north Lakewood a few blocks south of Wheat Ridge and very near Kipling. The old north Lakewood. We moved here in '76.

Stay warm!

Now I can imagine kids doing that around here "back in the day". Love it!

You must have grown up not far from where me & hubby are now. A few blocks south of Crown Hill.

Btw, don't be scared of how long it's been since you did all that. I remember when my family had coal stoves in the cellar back in Queens, NYC and when dad and I used to burn leaves in the street in front of our house in the autumn. Back when only a few families on our block had cars. Now, that's old, lol!

We were just south of 6th and Garrison. The house Dad bought new for $14K is now at about $300K.

Tomorrow I will have to hose it off before I drive it.
Pine tree pollen is the culprit.

When it rains you can see the greenish yellow water running down the driveway. But at least after a storm the air clears up for a few days.

Somewhere around 1990 in Mobile Al. we all woke up to find a thin layer of gritty mud on our cars,
enough that it had to be washed off. The local High School kids promptly held car washes for 5.00 and made a killing.
The story was that a fast moving rain storm had picked up dirt from Texas and dumped it on us in Mobile.

all I know is , I was there, saw it on my car
and we do get Texas storms here about 36 hours after they get it.

After having so little rain the past four years, it is nice to see all the plants green and blooming now when I go for my afternoon walk. Then I spend most of evening sneezing.
