Hang on...here comes "Baseball Gate" or "Mexican-Wave Gate". The RWers are frothing at the mouth

this morning, 'cause PBO did not immediately get on Air Force One and return to DC upon learning of the Brussels attack.

Instead, he dared to carry on with his announced program, including attending an historical baseball game, where he callously took part in a Mexican Wave with the dastardly Commie Castro.

WHERE WAS HIS SOLIDARITY WITH OUR NATO PARTNERS? Speaking of the attack at the very beginning of his historical speech to the Cuban nation was NOT ENOUGH.

Only jumping on AF1, and showing "tough guy" credentials by flying back to the "situation room", would have been the appropriate response.

He continues to "FAIL TO ADDRESS THE THREAT OF ISIS" and is therefore "RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RISE OF DONALD TRUMP".

I think I've hit all of this morning's RW talking points there. Just unfrigging believable.

Hypocrisy drips from their forked tongues.

Had to change channels. They painted him as an uncaring, ineffective CiC and leader.

Personally, I wish he had addressed the attack with a little more detail and vigor on what the Admin was doing to assist. Let's face it: many Americans want and need tough talk to make them feel better, remind them that such an attack is unlikely here, etc. It's not about substance anymore, but appearance. I guess Guiliani, Scab, and Hayden would sleep better hearing tough talk and blustering bravado.

He addressed a European issue first thing that morning in his Cuban-wide speech. The US itself was NOT under attack.

It would've been inappropriate to spend more time speaking of a European situation in a Latin American context.

He will, I'm sure, address the realities more profoundly on his arrival back in the States.

ETA: And therein lies the problem..."I guess Guiliani, Scab, and Hayden would sleep better hearing tough talk and blustering bravado."

The "situation" was over. All that was left was the hunt for the criminals who hadn't blown themselves up.

Plus, the President can do about as much from AF1 as he can sitting in DC.

...although his words were ignored while "news media" scrambled to ask "important people" what he should have done, or had listeners call in with their opinions, or pundits sat around debating it themselves.

His reasoning had to do with fear. And with fortitude. And with refusing to cower in the face of a bully — refusing to let groups like the Islamic State dictate the rhythm and actions of the rest of the world.

“It’s always a challenge when you have a terrorist attack anywhere in the world, particularly in this age of 24-7 news coverage,” Obama explained in his live mid-game interview with ESPN. “You want to be respectful and understand the gravity of the situation. But the whole premise of terrorism is to try to disrupt people’s ordinary lives.”

Obama went on to cite Red Sox star David Ortiz’s April 2013 on-field, pregame speech, during which — just days after the Boston Marathon bombing — he raised the microphone to his lips and slowly uttered the words, “This is our fucking city,” to the roar of the Boston crowd.

Thank you, Mr. President.

It was not an attack on Americans, or by Americans. It was a crime committed in another country with no crossover to US involvement at all. It doesn't really warrant scurrying back to Washington.

Reagan stayed at his ranch and enjoyed splitting wood when the 1985 El Descanso bombing in Madrid Spain (Islamic terrorists) happened. Eighteen died. Reagan never even mentioned it in his diaries. (See entry for April 12, 1985 and the days before at http://www.reaganfoundation.org/white-house-diary.aspx.) Hypocrisy very much?

The RW'ers are just in perpetual attack mode. They'll make as much noise as they can. Bitch, bitch, bitch.
