Blizzard isolates Denver - airport and all interstates closed in both diections

Blizzard conditions hitting the metro area Wednesday have turned slick roads into obstacle courses with fender benders, pile-ups and other accidents slowing traffic.

Hundreds of miles of roads around the state and in the Denver area are closing as the storm continues. The entire city of Denver was placed on accident alert, meaning officers were not responding to most minor crashes.

Interstate 70 between Aurora and the Kansas boarder has been shut down in both directions, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The interstate is closed west of Denver to Silverthorne.

I-25 is closed from Highway 7 north of Denver to Highway 402 in Loveland because of accidents and weather, CDOT tweeted at 11:30 a.m....

in KS & my family was in Colorado. I haven't seen real snow in like 5 yrs.
