http://www.politicususa.com/2016/08/05/fox-news-turns-trump-tells-release-tax-returns.htmlHowever, Donald Trump has already admitted that there is something in his tax returns that he thinks would cost him the election. During an interview with ABC News, Trump suggested that Romney lost the election due to a couple of legal things that were in his tax returns. It is a safe bet that Trump brought up Romneys returns because his also have some legal things that could doom his campaign.
Fox News daytime programming has been increasingly critical of Trump since sexual predator Roger Ailes was shown the door. Fox News primetime is still populated with uber fanboys OReilly and Hannity who will fight to the death for Trump, but during the day, the network has been openly critical of Trump, and rather frank about the fact that his campaign is imploding.
Fox isnt defending Trumps decision not to release his tax returns. As the GOP nominee sinks in the polls, it is becoming increasingly clear that both Fox News and the Republican Party are getting ready to abandon Trump and ship him out to sea.

Mr. Trump is an idiot.

(395 posts)Even with the daytime anchors. There is no secret that top GOPer want Trump to be replace. They know he watches Fox news religiously. My theory is the network might try to conceive him to resign by bashing him. I have no proof, but they have shown to have ulterior motives when they attack any R. I do not think that will change with Ailes gone.

(21,921 posts)There's an idea floating around in the entertainment business I work in that Roger Ailes replacements are convincing Rupert Murdoch to move Fox News towards a little more reality based reporting. Their marquee names, such and O'Reilly and Hannity, will continue on their right-wing flights of idiocy but the balance of the programming is attempting to make an evolution of sorts while maintaining their "conservative but fair and balanced" perspective.
For clarity, I don't watch Fox News and don't support them because they lie and they suck. But the post-Ailes network will be different and that is interesting to observe.

Once THEY feel threatened (like during WW2), it's funny how they become team players.

(61,675 posts)people that are regular voters talk about how he's starting to turn his campaign around. Don't they understand that the campaign is just a show, but his insanity is the real Donald and not leaving anytime soon? How can they be that dense?

(51,974 posts)The fact that he hasn't done even that means there's something damaging even at a high level.
Just releasing his 1040 wouldn't reveal mob ties or Russian investments or questionable deductions. So the problem has to be something like his income is way lower than it should be for someone with his claimed net worth and/or his actual tax bill was way lower than is politically acceptable.
