Rubio - No Abortion For Zika Infected Babies And No Government Help For Disabled Child Either.

I really do not know how such and ignorant, stupid, and bigoted empty suit like Rubio ever won anything. He is like a damned bed bug you cannot get rid of.

So if a woman has a disabled child because she cannot get an abortion if infected with the Zika virus, what is she supposed to do about raising a severely disabled child and supporting it for the rest of her life even in old age. The GOP is one the record about having no food stamps, no welfare, no funding for the disabled, and virtually no help from any government whatsoever.

They don't want any availability of birth control. They would make using contraceptives a crime given a chance.

Perhaps it is about punishment for having sex in the first place. And that policy is particularly targeted at women who have sex outside of marriage.

Nothing the GOP does makes any sense at all.

Even with legal abortion, medicaid won't pay for one. If you have enough money and insurance you can get an abortion but if you're poor, forget it.

They know both married and single women will continue to get abortions under various circumstances but, if illegal, there would be no chance of any form of government or insurance company assistance with the cost thereof. THEIR wallet remains safe unless, of course, they need to send a "friend" or relative away to a women's spa for a therapeutic respite.

The government has no business running such a thing. I asked how poor people would get the care they need. He said there is always a way. I asked for some examples. He said he's not up on that but there must be something.

Kind of puts the whole "why did we nominate this extremist, that's not who we are!" noise from the GOP establishment in perspective.

This current crop of Republicans have wanted to go through life with their boots on the throats of those they see as inferior to them. All the way back to the 1960s at the least when many southern Democrats left and hopped in to bed with the establishment GOP.

'cause running for a Republican Senate seat in a Republican district makes you say lots of crazy things - par for the course.

Back in reality though, he supported funding for Zika:

"In the Senate, Rubio has supported the provision of funding for work against Zika. In May, after a $1.1bn funding measure he sponsored passed the Senate, he cited an estimate from the CDC director, Tom Frieden, that the lifetime cost of caring for a child born with microcephaly could reach $10m.

We’re going to be dealing with Zika for multiple years,” Rubio said. “Outside of the human cost is the economic cost of this. We’re going to be spending money on Zika for the foreseeable future.”

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/aug/07/marco-rubio-zika-virus-abortions-florida

I realize actual facts get in the way of a good rant, but at least try to give an honest representation. Republicans do enough real crap on their own, there's no need to skew what's actually happening.

and we both were saying how incredibly difficult this decision would be, especially knowing that you were going to have a child with a terrible birth defect. We talked about how we would never want to be put it that person's shoes and how agonizing it must be...but then my bride brought it all home when she said;

"it's really not that difficult a decision...the decision really is to simply let the pregnant woman make the decision".
