General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsAh young love - Mika Mouse and Scabs are just so *giddy*flighty*playful!1
So first of all the headline referring to a "Reporter" was puzzling, as in, who-could-"Reporter"-BE/who-WHO?!1 Then it turned out to be Mika Mouse, formerly some kind of intern at CBS for Dan RATHER, but mostly a Reader unaccountably empowered to spout off the odd opinion.
Anyway, when Love is in the air, it makes the Young Lovers behave in *such* tenderly whimsical ways!1 So, here we have the Damsel being somehow overwhelmed by a barely funny item, prompting the question, Why such a disproportionate reaction from her, and, What would be so wrong about just laughing out loud in place instead of RUNNING out of the space?!1 Could it be, perchance, that she was in the mood for the Dashing Princelet to DASH after her?!1
And then there is Princelet SCABS looking over his shoulder and calling after her with the dulcet tones of Lover's Concern!1 We are left with SO much Concern of our own!1

Reporter loses it when she realizes what a Furry Convention is (video)
Reporters are supposed to report any piece of news without emotion or reaction of any kind. But heck, reporters are people, too, and when Mika Brzezinski learns what a furry is she cant contain herself.

(18,037 posts)Zbigniew (Count Chocula*) Brzezinski served in Carter's administration and is a very important geostrategist. Mika grew up in a very rarefied Washington environment. That kind of access does wonders for one's career.
I like the Count. He once told Joe (on the air) that the point of view he had expressed was "stunningly superficial."
Way Too Willie (Geist) is another legacy. His dad is a well-respected correspondent for CBS news.
* The Count Chocula moniker comes from SNL's weekend update circa 1977.

(65,616 posts)Ever seen a mascot at a ballgame? Furries are people dressed up in mascot costumes that go to comic-con etc.. Mika is an idiot, I guess they never heard of fans.
Chewie is probably the first furry.

(19,780 posts)A lot.

(14,846 posts)He claimed that Furries were people who dressed in animal costumes while having sex, so I apparently received bad information!
It didn't make sense to me why wearing a costume would make that experience more appealing, but I'm gullible sometimes.
Rex
(65,616 posts)I won't pretend to know everything about furries, but anyone running around in a 'furry' costume is a furry. Maybe in 2016 it means something else.
Buckeye_Democrat
(14,846 posts)... if the original definition that I received was accurate.
I'm not very up to date on that type of terminology, and I suppose that I don't really care that much.
Some homosexual co-worker told me at a company picnic that he'd love to "toss my salad," and I just looked at him clueless. I later mentioned the comment to another co-worker, and he burst into laughter while asking, "You don't know what that means, do you?!" After he explained, I said, "That's so unsanitary!"

(80,708 posts)Hmmmm...
No, seriously, I always thought the whole thing was an elaborate put-on, like a 4chan joke; no one was REALLY into that.
But then come to think of it that's kind of what I thought when I first heard about foot fetishes, too.
Rex
(65,616 posts)Okay okay, so I like to run around in a costume and have sex in the woods (in the costume)...is that so wrong I ask you?

(1,429 posts)furries are people who dress up as animals and many like to go out into the woods and fuck in costume and in RP aka roleplay
Rex
(65,616 posts)He looks furry, so now they go out in the woods to fuck? Wow, this gets more wild by the minute! First it was just fuck in costumes, now it is out in the woods!
PRO Tip for people travelling across the country, make sure not to feed the wildlife!

(20,433 posts)telling her on air in her ear. I'm thinking the crew played a practical joke on her and so she just left the stage.
I'd to that, too. It's the anchor's ass on camera, the crew is hidden, and they're totally dependent on the crew.
Willie tried to read the prompter and just get to the next break. Maybe he knew what was going on, but maybe not.
This is no way to run a tv show, but we knew that.,

(2,736 posts)Do they take something off or do costumes have special openings?
Do you see the other persons real face BEFORE hand or is it anonymous?
Are there male furries and female furries ?
Not being funny, just asking.
Downtown Hound
(12,618 posts)Different strokes for different folks, even in the furry community. But yes, there are male and female furries.
