Do you think having a woman President

will have a direct impact on children?
I know it will have an impact on female children but I also think it will have just as large on Boys where they will grow up and take it for granted that women are equal
Not just because of a women President but watching sports, women play at a high level very athletic and graceful, same with other women's sport, it is high caliber

I grew up in the 70's, a show I still love to watch All in the family, we all know Archie is misogynistic, but that is his character, but the liberal Mike and Gloria, it was also a misogynistic relationship, As I watch it now "I go that is sexist". In the early years when Mike went to college, Gloria worked, she brought in all the money but if he was hungry she would rush into the kitchen to make him a sandwich or something.

My son 17 is a big backer of Clinton, doesn't matter if she is a women or not

Maybe girls will be inspired.

It will hold hope for the future.

Her first knowledge of a president will be of a woman president. The impact is immeasurable.

ps...she and I voted together for Hillary in the primary election, and cannot wait to help elect her in November!

We have more and more women entering into fields and jobs than we did before. Personally, I think it has more impact on women of my Mother's era, who had to fight for their jobs and against sexual harassment, etc.

Many of the younger generation kind of take it for granted that they can do anything they really put their minds to... And yes, the system is anything but perfected. It still has bias against minority, and LGBT and women, but the barriers are lessened.

I think more women who are younger take into account policies that will effect their lives and who would best help them and others along. Little girls and boys have a different context of viewpoint; they may be excited in a child like manner.

Now, I don't think it will. This may be a good thing - it shows just how much progress has been made in a generation. It's a bit discouraging that the US didn't lead the way, but the world has changed since then.

... the "hate crowd" will become more anti-feminist too?

They'll probably complain about people being too "PC" and not freely using the c-word to describe women.

Kind of how all the closet racists came out of the woodwork when Obama was elected.

when there isn't a track record of no one like you being in the office.

So yes, for daughters I think it's important.

For the same reason, I'd like to hopefully soon see an open Atheist as President.
