It's like he's broadcasting, "I may go down, but I'm taking everything and everyone who slighted or opposed me, along for the hellacious trip".
First the unholy triad will attempt to destroy HRC however they can. If defeat looks inevitable, they'll continue with that and turn their wrath on establishment republicans.
It's a vile 84 days we're entering. Viler.

(358 posts)Take the whole world down with you in one glorious final bloody act. The tragedy that befalls you is the tragedy of everyone.
Like this is the kind of guy you'd trust with the nuclear codes.

(21,998 posts)Just as the Republican Party is burning, these extremist un-American political whores will see their own influence be diminished.
Most Americans are good people. As they've seen Donald Trump's hatefulness, rudeness, xenophobia, misogyny, racism and other negative personal behaviors, many Americans have distanced themselves from him. Even Republicans are disgusted by him. So my optimistic soul wants to believe that the hatred and ugliness will turn most good Americans away from this Dark Side and shunt the Trumpsters to the gutter where they belong.

(6,936 posts)And that's what Trump needs right now. They only know how to tear down.
But Hillary is too strong for them. Her reaction will not be one of consternation, anger, or concern. It will be of ridicule. She will rhetorically and literally laugh in their faces.
They succeeded in the past because they remained behind the scenes. Now they are front and center--in perfect position to be shoved under the bus. Their tactics only work when you're back is turned. The Dems are gonna slice 'em and dice 'em.
I'm sure they got their money up front.

(114,904 posts)This is a long profile of him, published in October of last year by Bloomberg. It's both illuminating and frightening.

(20,592 posts)Media chaos. Mindless speculation and confusion. Keep everyone moving and guessing, trying to make sense out of it.
Her campaign won't be able to do anything but constant rebuttals and denials.
At some point she'll have to put it all on ignore.
Same goes for the media. After a certain amount of sorting through bull pucky they'll have to choose what to report and what to ignore.
This will hurt us all but it won't reset us into a better place for the 99%. It will ultimately make voters give up and tune out.

(6,936 posts)Perhaps it's wishful thinking, but the key here is that Trump has to drive the vehicle that would run down Hillary. Her team includes the Obamas and the Bidens. Some key Senators and Congressman, too.
Trump may be maleable, but I don't see him delivering on any strategy, either scripted or in the moment. The debates will likely be a disaster for him. I can't see how he shows up.
So Bannon gets to throw a few hundred million dollars around trashing Hillary. Republican women might prove that tack misguided.

(114,904 posts)I don't see Trump as malleable though. Not in the least.

(6,936 posts)manipulated. You can't make a turd into a trophy, but you can make a turd bomb. You can leave turds on the grass.
For Bannon, Trump is a crude instrument at best, perhaps. No Pygmalion, he.
