Blake Shelton Issues The Worst Non-Apology For Homophobic Tweets
It might be time for that sweet escape, Gwen.

Cole Delbyck

It would be easy to call Shelton’s tweets homophobic, misogynist and downright offensive (is anyone surprised?), but what troubles us most is that he actually thinks he’s funny. ....

“Standing in line at a coffee shop in LA talking with the man in front of me,” he reportedly tweeted. “He orders a skinny caramel latte. I couldn’t tell he was gay!!!”

If the tweets are authentic, Shelton didn’t reserve his hilarious commentary just for suspected gay people. No, he also felt the needed to label women as “bitches” and liken them to zoo animals. In one tweet, a quote was shared that likens “picking up bitches in a bar” to “hunting deer in a zoo.”

Did you think we were done? Because Shelton wasn’t when he discovered that his shuttle bus driver “can’t speak a FUCKING word of English” in 2010 or when he wished that he could understand the “dickhead in the next room” was saying so he could know what he’s “planning to bomb.”

written after that "new country turd" (as the song calls Shelton) said that only "old farts" listen to authentic country. The second verse is hilarious:

WELL I'D RATHER BE AN OLD FART THAN A NEW COUNTRY TURD
I KNOW I AINT BOOK SMART BUT FROM WHAT I HEARD
I'M JUST A JACKASS THAT LIKES THE OL COUNTRY SOUND
PLENTY OF US OLD FARTS STILL HANGIN AROUND

I KNOW I AIN'T A REAL SMART FELLER
I'D RATHER BE THAT THAN A REAL FART SMELLER
YEAH YOU GO YOUR WAY SON AND I'LL GO MINE
WE'LL SEE WHO STINKS FURTHER DOWN THE LINE

and managed to survive a terrible tragedy in his life and a long painful period of intense suffering. There's a super documentary about it called "Crazy Again" (might be on Netflix or maybe Amazon).

I was fortunate to see him play live in Baton Rouge last spring, with my "young fart" 18-year son, who loves him. Great musician, great band, tons of great recordings.
