Former Connecticut Republican U.S. Senator and Independent Governor Lowell Weicker is predicting a blow out for the Democrats this fall. Not because they have a better candidate, but because Donald Trump is so bad.

Gov. Weicker is just as sharp and outspoken as he ever was. He says that the shake-up in the Trump campaign operation won’t make any difference....

The 85-year-old longtime politician bases his judgement of Trump on the dealings he had with the businessman when he was Governor and Trump wanted to build a casino in Bridgeport. Weicker had just concluded an exclusive profit sharing deal with the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe for the Foxwoods Casino and told Trump his venture was impossible.

“He said, ‘Well they’re not Indians.’ And I said, ‘Really, why not?’ and he said, Because they’re not, they don’t look like Indians’…and at that point I called him a bigot, and he hasn’t changed his spots. He called me a fat slob and I haven’t changed my weight,” Weicker recalled.
