to bash big bad gubmint and its big bad regulations. The Senators listened to testimony from agricultural business leaders.
The panelists spoke of how, they say, some unnecessary government regulations on things like anhydrous ammonia are forcing businesses to cut jobs or even close. They talked about how some specific F.D.A and O.S.H.A regulations are impacting their company's bottom line.

If the FDA and OSHA are hurting them, they aren't family farms; they are corporate farms.

(15,805 posts)2. Sure, that's just what we need, less government regulations on anhydrous ammonia.
Because anything that is toxic and corrosive to living tissues on contact and results in fatalities, doesn't need any annoying safety rules. Of course it would be good of business if the "unnecessary" government regulations were repealed, the hospital and medical businesses would grow, and mortuaries, cemeteries... yep, less government regulations is great for new jobs.
