In June, the hacker Guccifer 2.0 released internal Democratic National Committee (DNC) documents proving the DNC treated Hillary Clinton as their nominee before the primaries even began. Not long after these revelations came to light, the law firm Beck & Lee filed a class action lawsuit against now-former DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and the DNC on behalf of Bernie Sanders supporters.
The suit includes six claims: fraud, negligent misrepresentation, deceptive conduct, monetary restitution for donors of Sanders, the DNC breaking its own fiduciary duties, and negligence for failing to protect sensitive donor information that was hacked. Beck & Lee noted the lawsuit was a way to give a voice to Sanders supporters who were silenced by the rigging of the primaries for Clinton. Attorneys Jared Beck, a Harvard Law graduate, and Elizabeth Beck, a Yale Law School graduate, have previously filed successful lawsuits against Yelp, Unilever, Korea Airlines, and fraudulent real estate investors.
The July WikiLeaks release provided further evidence that the DNC actively worked against Sanders, yet the Vermont senators supporters have received no recompense. The damage control used to divert from the content of these emails portrayed criticism of Clinton as a Russian conspiracy. While the mainstream media has devolved into an apparatus to funnel messaging and talking points directly from the DNC and Clinton campaign, the litigation for this class action lawsuit has been moving forward.

(44,116 posts)The paper's all in for Trump. His mentor is Rupert Murdoch.
You're an intelligent person. Rather than attacking new posters, a little skepticism about shit-stirring Trump newspaper might be in order.

Welcome to DU, sorry for the other posters treating you badly.

She's a Dem. That's all I know - AND LOVE. I don't know the local politics or what else she has done to hurt. What she did back then burnt into my consciousness.

Democratic party leaders have tapped Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz to raise money and coach candidates in a high-stakes, aggressive bid to expand the Democratic majority in the House of Representatives.
But as three Miami Democrats look to unseat three of her South Florida Republican colleagues, Wasserman Schultz is staying on the sidelines. So is Rep. Kendrick Meek, a Miami Democrat and loyal ally to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
That wasn't the case just two years ago when the pair flouted a long-standing Florida delegation agreement to not campaign against colleagues and vigorously backed Ron Klein in his winning bid to oust veteran Republican Rep. Clay Shaw.
This time around, Wasserman Schultz and Meek say their relationships with the Republican incumbents, Reps. Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother Mario, and Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, leave them little choice but to sit out the three races...

(27,813 posts)Id love to be in the courtroom when the plaintiffs lawyers explain to a judge that theres this guy on the internetz named Guccifer 2.0 who said that the DNC was being mean to Bernie, and a guy hiding out in an embassy to avoid facing rape charges who said the same thing.
No doubt the presiding judge will give due weight to the evidence alleged leaks that cannot be proven as legitimate, distributed by sources who are, shall we say, less then credible.
The only people who will benefit by these bogus lawsuits and there have been several launched are the lawyers who will be collecting fees from plaintiffs in order to cover their expenses while moving the case forward.
Its the P.T. Barnum school of law where theres a sucker born every minute, and there are plenty of lawyers to take advantage of that fact.

(5,811 posts)if his supporters were Democrats. It's also interesting that GOP tried to de-legitimatize President Obama's presidency by otherizing him. Now this group seems to be doing all the heavy lifting on Trump's "crooked Hillary" meme. Of course, Trump is polling somewhere between 0 and 1% among African Americans because we can see past the manipulations and crazy.

(7,473 posts)I've been challenging since this started for anybody to provide me with a single E-mail that showed the DNC taking an actual action that influenced the outcome of the election. Nobody has come up with one yet. Perhaps you can be the first.
The only things that are there are E-mails of DNC officers discussing things among themselves, or plans to defend the DNC from Bernie and his followers' smears. Defending against smears is not trying to unfairly fix the election.
After all the false attacks against the DNC by Sanders its the DNC that should be suing him.
