Christian activists boycott of Target hasnt exactly been a rousing success so far, as the company this week announced that its spending $20 million to expand its available restroom options while at the same time remaining inclusive toward transgender people.
Right Wing Watch notices that Christian activist Sandy Rios is so scared that the boycott of Target will be a flop that she fears shell never be able to use a public restroom again.
If we do not keep the pressure on Target, this will quickly we know how major corporations are, they are scared to death of anything that isnt politically correct this will spread like wildfire, we will not be able to go to the bathroom anywhere, she told Breitbarts Alex Marlow. Whats at stake is all the other companies around this country that will just cave, they just will.
While this sounds dire, its likely that most people will simply get used to having transgender people in their restrooms without getting upset by it. That said, its unlikely that Sandy Rios will be taking any family road trips in the near future if shes seriously too scared to use a public bathroom.

(2,413 posts)I identify with the gender I was born with, as do most people. I haven't a clue how many transgendered people there out there, which no doubt means I meet them more or less every day and haven't a clue.
The very short time I spend in public restrooms I do my own business and leave. I don't pay a lot of attention to others who are there, doing there own business.
Makes me think I might be missing out on something very interesting.

(231 posts)that corresponds to the sex indicated on your birth certificate.
Women have suffered for decades if not centuries from longer bathroom lines than men have. I now choose the shorter line, no matter which bathroom it leads to, explaining to anyone who looks askance at an old lady in the men's room that I was born a man.
So far, no one's asked to see my penis.

(31,483 posts)As I near my 70th birthday, I can honestly say that the only bad experiences I've had in public restrooms involved the plumbing and not the other patrons.
This is a subject that has been blown totally out of proportion by the rwnj''s in an attempt to frighten their base into making poor decisions, namely, voting more rwnj's into office.

(236 posts)And that male rapist who they are so concerned will dress like a woman to get into the woman's bathroom can walk right in dressed like a man and simply claim he was born a woman. These laws actually make it easier for the "rapist".

(82,383 posts)1. There are not that many transgender people
2. Transgender people look like the gender they transitioned to, so it would be worse for this lady if people went into their sex-at-birth gender restroom
3. Who notices who else is in a public restroom? I have zero curiosity about such people. On New Jersey Turnpike rest stops, for example, the rest rooms are huge and I could have been in one the same time as a transgender person was many time. But why is this lady not concerned about the female cisgender criminals she might have been in the restroom with? They are more dangerous to her.
4. She is not really concerned, it is blown out of proportion to create a concern for the bigoted - they know they could have been in a restroom with a transperson without knowing it.
