IMHO, whenever she used to appear on Tweety (before she was given a brief run at a daily show @ 2pm, after which she was shunted to the weekend), she was the only contributor who could not only out-talk him but who could leave him speechless in stunned silence.

willing to revamp their schedule (again) and dump Schmuck Toad and put her in a weekday slot once more (preferably his) instead? I think they feel she is too fiery for them. They couldn't handle people like Ed Schultz or even Martin Bashir.

from the city with Comcast's HQ, where they are building their 2nd tower, soon to surpass their current one that is already the tallest in the city!

(the one on the left is their current one and the one on the right is a rendition since tower 2 is being constructed right now)

I remember when City Hall - that now-tiny tower down the Parkway in the above shot, was the tallest building in the city (due to the local height restriction ordinance).

She has become the best thing the network has going for it. It won't be long before she has her own weekday show. She's a natural and is blowing everyone else away.

She had a weekday show and they dumped it when they shuffled people like her out and Rev. Al out from weekdays and into the weekend.

Until February, 2015, Reid hosted a weekday show, The Reid Report, on MSNBC. Since then she has been reporting and commenting on the 2016 campaign. Reid joined MSNBC in 2011 as a contributor.

Joy was mainly brought back as a replacement for another fiery one - Melissa Harris-Perry who was torpedoed after both parties had a meltdown.

I guess since it's been over 1.5 years since they had cancelled her show ("The Reid Report&quot , people forgot.

It wasn't in a time slot that I usually watch.

Meanwhile however, she could be going the route of some of her predecessors. Chris Hayes and Ed Schultz went from weekday prime time, demoted to weekends, and then back to weekday prime time when the weekend shows were successful. Schultz eventually was fired, but he had a fairly long run on MSNBC.

Joy Reid has also been guest hosting for other regulars during the week and has done an excellent job. I think she is much better than Melissa Harris-Perry with her cutesy props and gimmicks, which I found really annoying.

I know it will never happen, but I think Reid would be great on Meet the Press.

Exactly!!!! It made me mad that I couldn't be a regular watcher although my office did have a TV on in an open area that they tuned to MSNBC so if I had time, I would try to walk by when she was on. I really wanted her to be on in Martin Bashir's old 4 pm slot at least (I usually get home from work between 4 - 4:30) or even have them get rid of Tweety's 2 slots and put her in one of them. But when they did this last shuffling, I pretty much stop watching and only occasionally watch a little if I happen to have the TV on and pop in on the channel. In general, I get more news here on DU than anywhere else!!

It's funny but my mother was an original watcher of MSNBC when it first came on the air. She used to call it "Microwave". She would call and say "Turn on microwave! Quick".

I was so sad to see Martin axed, but it would have been a good time for Joy Reid's show. I remember being upset that Matthews had two prime time slots as well, once was more than enough.

I wasn't watching hardly any MSNBC this past year until recently and seeing Joy Reid fill in for other hosts was like a breath of fresh air. I think what people like the most about her is that she doesn't let guests evade her questions. And she does it without looking rattled. She tends to instantaneously fact check them. Hopefully "Microwave" will take full advantage of her talent, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Or not ...

The brother of a very good friend of mine has meet her. I rock! My friend showed me picture of his brother with Joy. I was totally jealous. She was one of my favorites at the time, and that was 4 years ago.

I have always loved Joy Reid. I first saw her on Martin Bashir show, her and that one lady who's name is totally eluding me right now, (she hosted the now defunct "disrupt" on M$NBC but now works for the Clinton campaign) and that other lady I also can't remember name, (she writes for Salon red hair very smart), used to be on his show all the time before he left. I loved that program.

I was hooked on her at first sight.

She is the best!!!!!!! She should get a raise. She is one of the reasons I bother watching M$NBC these days. I only tune in for Joy, Rachel, Chris Hayes, and Lawrence. I like Ari and Thomas Roberts and probably 2 other people but other then these hand full of peeps the rest of M$NBC is horrid, frigging faux noise light. I flip it to those flip or flop shows on HGTV. But Flip or Flop is actually a cool show unlike 80% on M$NBC these days.

Ok I am done with my trump like rant about nothing. But damn Joy Reid is a kick ass journalist. We need more like her.

I like her 2hour show on the weekend. I think Chris hayes had a better show when he had 2hours. I though Melissa was also terrific in a 2hour slot. I think it depends on the host but while joy can pull off s shorter show she can really get rolling when given 2hours. If she does get another weekday show I want to see her in prime time.
