Mark Kirk is the Illinois senator poised to lose his seat to Tammy Duckworth this year. Sliming the president as drug dealer in chief is a measure of how desperate he feels.
When youre a Republican running to save your job, it might have seemed like a good idea to jump on the GOP bandwagon and falsely call the administrations $400 million Iran payment a ransom but it didnt stop there.
We cant have the president of the United States acting like the drug dealer in chief, Republican Mark Kirk told the editorial board of The State Journal-Register of Springfield.

Imagine that. Sen. Kirk finds it appropriate to compare the first Black president to a drug dealer. No racist dog-whistle there!
Matt McGrath, Duckworths campaign spokesman, said Kirks comments were disgracefully insulting to the president whose Senate seat he now holds.

Bye Kirk. You POSUCS. I have to thank you though, Tammy Duckworth will be the next great Senator from Illinois. I sure bet it burns your butt that you lost to a girl.

(10,495 posts)they accuse a Democrat of being disrespectful to the President. With Obama as President things have sunk to a new low. Being the hypocrites they are they will cry like babies when one of theirs gets a small taste of what has been dished to Obama and his family these last 8 years!

(46,322 posts)This reached a climax with the Clinton impeachment fiasco.
Then we had an SOB and his goons who lied us into a war.
But calling them out?
"Treason!"
Now we had 8 years of obstruction, lies, even wild accusations of where the guy was born.
"Oh that's different!"

(82,849 posts)Let's face it, the United States had to release the money it's been holding for more than 30 years. It was one of the conditions of the multi-national treaty we negotiated with our allies with Iran. We don't release that money, Iran goes back to the status quo ante, and might have some material with which to make a nuclear bomb. Instead, Obama takes advantage of the good feelings engendered by the treaty to get Iran to release some of our citizens they've been holding.
Only in a Republican's alleged mind does this episode become something bad. Oh, and in the minds of the media who can't even yet figure out when they're being played by those same Republicans. Apparently, the Republicans and their media water-carriers would prefer that Iran keep holding our citizens hostage.

(616 posts)"AIPAC worked to mobilize its friends in Congress. Mark Kirk, a Republican senator from Illinois and a major beneficiary of AIPAC-related funding, began pressing to pass a new sanctions bill. He was saying, Were in negotiations with a wolf in sheeps clothing! a former Senate aide recalled. The bill, co-sponsored by Robert Menendez, a New Jersey Democrat, was drafted with considerable input from AIPAC. This was the first time in decades that the lobby had challenged the sitting U.S. President so overtly."
