Donald Trump believes the polls are starting to swing back his way.
"Look, these are very greedy people. These are people that have skirted the law for a long time. Hard to believe that, you know, somebody like this has a good chance, you know a fairly good chance of being president," Trump told "Fox & Friends" about the Clintons, while discussing his call to shut down the Clinton Foundation on Monday.
Trump added, "Although if you look at the most recent polls I think things are turning. I think they're turning rather rapidly. But it's hard to believe she can be running. To be honest with you, with the emails and the crime she committed, she shouldn't even be allowed to run for president."
The Trump campaign has pointed repeatedly to the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times daily tracking poll, which on Sunday showed the Republican leading Hillary Clinton 45 percent to 43 percent, within the survey's margin of error. Unlike most other national and state surveys, the poll surveys 300-400 eligible voters daily, drawn from a panel of the same 3,200 people. Other national and battleground surveys have shown Clinton with more comfortable leads.

(4,286 posts)It has been an outlier from day one. The poll uses the same group of 3000 that were in the original sample and keeps interviewing the same group. Their methodology is not proven. Rand tried this in 2012 and had better results with a larger sample. However, Rand decided not to publish daily results this time and only report on trends. One problem is that if the original sample has an error the same error carries over week to week. I would take this poll with a grain of salt.
Edit: Here is an article that explains why this poll has issue:
