What about when, let's say a House Speaker, or a Senate Majority Leader . . . . .

. . . . . holds a campaign fundraiser where high dollar donors get into closed events? Isn't that pay for access? What about when super high dollar donors get into private or very small events with the Speaker or the Leader? Isn't that pay for very special access? And do we think for a moment that none of these high or super high dollar donors asked for anything? And do we think that none of the requests were granted?

Does anyone think any of that is uncommon at any level of government and politics? Anyone? Beuhler?

Just because the name "Clinton" is the name on the charity's front door, the right wing blitz team is going to target their foundation. Even liberals say it smells. Or the optics are bad.

Or what the fuck ever.

Rest assured more good was done with money given to The Clinton Foundation than the similar amounts of money given to Democratic and Republican politicians in the same time frame. Did even one life get saved because of the proceeds from a $100,000 a plate high dollar donor dinner?

But ya know . . . . if it wasn't this shit again it would just be something else.

CDS† is a terrible, chronic affliction affecting a sizable percentage of the adult US population. And it has no cure.

† Clinton Derangement Syndrome: an incurable mental disorder wherein the afflicted create, over and over, and always with the same result, controversy hoped to stop the dynamic husband/wife political juggernaut only to have the attempt fail so miserably it blows back on the perpetrator.

Compare the Clinton Foundation to the Red Cross on the metrics.

Imagine if she refused to release her tax returns.

Imagine if she was so compromised that she could fall victim to extortion by any number of entities, like Putin, China, organized crime … etc.

The Right & the media would have her hung & rotating on a firey rotisserie spit in no time flat.

Arghhh ………

What Clinton appears to have done was nothing out of the ordinary...for Washington. She was a powerful person using her powerful position to help her powerful friends and the friends of those friends.

Everybody does it. It's absolutely standard operating procedure.

But it's also why people hate Washington. The danger here is not impropriety -- there was none -- but of reminding people (in an anti-Establishment year) that Hillary is not just part of the Washington Establishment, she's an absolute avatar of the Washington Establishment. Saying "Mitch McConnell does it too" doesn't get Hillary off the hook; on the contrary, it makes exactly the connection the right-wing media wants to make.
