So the whole Clinton Foundation "scandal"

seems to be that people don't understand the difference between donations to a well regarded charity, from which the Clinton get no money (and in fact give quite a bit of their own) and contributions to her campaign. And this includes members or the Press.

Try Free Republic, after you get ignored and attacked at Democratic Underground. I wonder if they still gossip about me in Freeperville. BTW, what do you think of Trump refusing to reveal his tax returns and his connections with the Mafia, in the USA and organized crime in Russia?

"If a Repub did that, this board, the media, and the whole country would be going ape shit bananas."

You must have forgotten about the Cheney Energy Task force created by Executive Order on January 29, 2001, that was chaired by Vice President Richard Cheney which the so-called "Liberal media" DIDN'T really go that ape shit bananas over, and there was a MEGA TON OF THERE, THERE, making what the Clinton Foundation is allegedly guilty of look like a walk in the park.

9. somebody needs to start doing an analysis between this and the swiftboating

media role in this becomes more important than starting the swiftboat affair, because they're doing more to INITIATE it than they did in 04. at least then, they had a sugar daddy to seed the media frenzy. the MSM is doing more of a job here similar to the one they did during whitewater, led, at the onset, by Jeff Gerth and the NYT

Fools for Scandal

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/arkansas/whitewater/lyonsarticle.html

So how did we get here? Well, at the expense of shocking you, dear reader, it all began with the New York Times--specifically with a series of much-praised articles by investigative reporter Jeff Gerth: groundbreaking, exhaustively researched, but not particularly fair or balanced stories that combine a prosecutorial bias and the art of tactical omission to insinuate all manner of sin and skulduggery. Accompanied by a series of indignant editorials, Gerth's work helped create a full-scale media clamor last December for a special prosecutor.

Testimony in recent Senate hearings showed that the Resolution Trust Corporation's Whitewater investigation began in direct response to the Times coverage; the hearings themselves resulted in large part from the Clinton Administration's panicky reaction to reporters' queries about the RTC probe, Gerth's among them. Absent the near-talismanic role of the New York Times in American journalism, the whole complex of allegations and suspicions subsumed under the word "Whitewater" might never have made it to the front page, much less come to dominate the national political dialogue for months at a time.

It is all the more disturbing, then, that most of the insinuations in Gerth's reporting are either highly implausible or demonstrably false.
