Here's A Congressional Race That Can Flip....

from R to D. New Jersey's congressional districts have been carefully drawn to protect the incumbents. A flip of a seat is near impossible. However, that's only NEAR impossible, meaning it's slightly possible (to paraphrase Miracle Max). It looks like one of our Republican representatives may be nearing the end of his run in D.C. Good riddance to one of the strangest people I have ever met. Here's hoping homophobic, right-wing nut job (is that redundant?), and all out weirdo Scott Garrett may be finally going down in flames in NJ's 5th Congressional District.

Debate over debates in hot N.J. congressional race | The Auditor

Garrett and Gottheimer are engaged in New Jersey's only competitive House race this fall and one expected to be one of the the most expensive congressional contests in the country.

Through June 30, Garrett, who had $2 million left over from his 2014 re-election reported a campaign bank account balance of $2.8 million. Gottheimer had $2.5 million.

Gottheimer has more than doubled Garrett's fundraising, bringing in $2.9 million to his $1.4 million. If the trend continues, it will be the first time Garrett will be outraised by his Democratic opponent since his first congressional election in 2002.

While House Democrats try to tie Republicans, including Garrett, to Donald Trump, the incumbent seeks to take advantage of the fact that Hillary Clinton isn't that well-liked either, according to opinion polls.

Garrett is working to ensure voters know that Gottheimer wrote speeches at the White House for Clinton's husband, President Bill Clinton.

Garrett has been hurt by published reports saying that he told fellow Republicans that he would not contribute to their fundraising arm because it backed gay candidates.
