Not Happy with Clinton's Speech today

She did make some new and great points that her campaign should double down on:

"He suggested that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the Kennedy assassination. Perhaps in Trump’s mind, because he was a Cuban immigrant, he must have had something to do with it. Of course there’s absolutely no evidence of that."
-- use that in Florida. "Trump suggesting that a Cuban immigrant killed Kennedy"

This spring, he(Stephen Bannon) railed against Paul Ryan for, quote “rubbing his social-justice Catholicism in my nose every second.”
-- Use that everywhere. "Trump embraces Catholic bashers"

On the other hand, she royally pissed me off with this:

"He’s taking hate groups mainstream and helping a radical fringe take over one of America’s two major political parties."

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WAS A HATE GROUP BEFORE TRUMP! How has she not figured that out? Trump lifted the veil! The DNC is trying to bring that Truth to every congressional race! Trump and his supporters aren't the fringe, they ARE the party! Ask voters "Do you want to side with that?!"

Instead of staying on message, a message that could secure her the presidency AND a Dem controlled senate, she gives cover to the enemy with these lines:

"A fringe element has effectively taken over the Republican Party."

"Twenty years ago, when Bob Dole accepted the Republican nomination, he pointed to the exits and told any racists in the Party to get out."

"The week after 9/11, George W. Bush went to a mosque and declared for everyone to hear that Muslims “love America just as much as I do.” "

"In 2008, John McCain told his own supporters they were wrong about the man he was trying to defeat. Senator McCain made sure they knew – Barack Obama is an American citizen and “a decent person.” "

"The man who today is the standard bearer of the Republican Party said a federal judge was incapable of doing his job solely because of his heritage...Even the Republican Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, described that as “the textbook definition of a racist comment.” "

Great! Fucking Great! Now down-ticket, Repuke candidates can say "Trump doesn't represent the Republican party that I know. I represent the Republican party that Hillary talks about".

Hillary, enjoy your presidency, but good luck getting your agenda implemented with a Senate that's filled with the same old David Duke clones wearing "Kindlier, Gentler" masks.

A large number of Republicans will stay home election day because they don't like Trump or because they just aren't into him. If Hillary blasts all Republicans as racists then that will make many of the nonverters angry at her. Then they will vote to vote against Hillary. And once in the voting booth they will vote for down ballot Republicans.

The smart political strategy this election is to attack Trump, not the Republicans who will stay home. Do not poke a stick in a hornets nest filled with sleeping hornets.

so why shouldn't that be Hillary Clinton? God knows, the media isn't doing it! The Republicans are no longer a hornet's nest, they are a vacated bird nest filled with mites. She did the right thing IMHO!!

Her best play is to get moderate Repubs to stay home. Blasting Trump does that. Broadening those attacks to include Repubs in general probably would be counter productive. I think she is running a smart campaign.

The end game is to get a large majority to stay home. Hillary doesn't need any more R support to win. Better for the down ticket if they stay home, rather than vote for Hillary and also the Rs on the down ticket.

Our best chance to retake Congress is through depressed R turnout.
