https://ourrevolution.com/It is purely to the good for people who were in the Sanders campaign to stay connected and keep working as a group for social and economic change.
Anytime a large left-of-center group does disband(as the Rainbow Coalition effectively did after the 1988 election, as SDS did due to infighting in the late 1960's, as SNCC and CORE did for various reasons around 1967)only the right wing benefits.
No one who is poor, no one who is a person of color, no one who is a woman, no LGBTQ person, no working person(many of who are in at least one or two of the previous groups) would benefit if "Our Revolution" were to fail and the Sanders movement were to die out.
That would just make the hopes for change die, because change can't happen unless there are mass organizations working constantly to make it happen. Any time you lose one mass organization, you weaken the others. Look at how badly all other progressive groups declined after the Rainbow was demobilized. Look at how much ground was lost because the Obama movement was essentially disbanded. It is never good strategy to tell good people working for good things that the organization they are using to do this needs to go away.
Our Revolution will be working hard to elect Democrats all over the country. It will organize with other progressive groups on the causes we all support-the fight against social oppression, the fight against environmental degradation, the struggle to protect ordinary people against corporate power, and the fight to remove big money from national politics so that the needs of the people matter once again. It will provide the resources needed to WIN all of those battles, as we must.
Please support Our Revolution's continued existence. It's in your interest as a progressive and a Democrat for the organization to survive and to flourish.

(6,238 posts)This group is all about downticket elections. Furthermore, he's been working to get Clinton elected for months. I swear some of her supporters will simply never forgive him for daring to impede her coronation.

(11,417 posts)I think it is wrong to say the folks you name are lost without your revolution.
If we elect the right people this year we can have more liberal governments.
Your revolution is part of the solution not the only solution.

(13,340 posts)I hope this not like our local Occupy group, which became WAY too factionalized with people arguing who was "progressive" enough.
They literally argued 15 minutes over approving the agenda, with a couple members insisting that agendas are oppressive.
