Well I'm 0-6 getting chosen for a jury, my latest was yesterday

I read, ALOT, everything I find interesting or potentially explosive in my minds eye. Living in STL has really opened my eyes in the last couple years believe me. Called for my latest jury duty yesterday. My number came up the 3rd call. 50 people. Crossing Market street to the jury room. 50 people lining up to go to the court room.
Case : 2015 protest in front of Head Circuit Attorney residence over public announcement charges against 2 police officers will NOT be made on the shooting death of a young black man. Already heated in the context of what happened near STL. Police called. Protesters told to leave. Protesters would not leave. SOME protesters on residence porch. Police gun drawn on protesters. Pepper spray used on protesters. 1 protester pepper sprayed, walked up to the Chief of Police (interesting that he was there, night time and all), and wiped some pepper spray from her face onto the front of his shirt(chest high). 3rd degree assault charges filed against protester. Chief is 6' 3''. Protestor 5'5'' female.

MO 3rd degree assault charges below: #5 is the ONLY one STL is betting on. I cant say for sure.

1.Attempting to cause or recklessly causing physical injury to another person,
2.Cause physical injury to another by acting with criminal negligence using a weapon,
3.Placing someone in fear of immediate physical injury,
4.Recklessly engaging in behavior which creates a grave risk of death or serious injury,
5.Knowingly causing physical contact with another person knowing it will be considered offensive by the other person, or
6.Knowingly causing physical contact with someone who is incapacitated

ALL evidence will be testimony. Both sides.
Possible 1-5 years and 1-7500 fine.
Will the jury finds her guilty beyond reasonable doubt?
Will the results be known OUTSIDE of the court room?

Already an article on the trial in the paper...easy enough to find with the info you provided-

If guilty I seriously doubt any jail time, probably just probabtion-

Keith Rose, also a regular at the Ferguson protests, testified in support of Vega’s version of events. Rose and Vega said the protest had been peaceful and was breaking up when police arrived with pepper spray.

Police officers testified to a chaotic scene of angry cursing by protesters. The prosecution played a 15-minute cellphone video by Sgt. Raymond Jackson, who is black, showing protesters shouting at him repeatedly with racial taunts. The video does not show the encounter between Dotson and Vega.

Lawyers are to make closing arguments Wednesday. If convicted of the misdemeanor, Vega could face a year in jail.

Elizabeth L. Vega, of St. Louis, was among protesters outside Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce's home when pepper spray was used by officers to disperse demonstrators. Vega is accused of wiping some of the pepper spray on St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson.

Never put your hands on another person and never EVER put your hands on the other person first. As described, this wasn't self-defense so.........

Based on criteria #5, if she did what you describe, then it's pretty clear that she's guilty. Probably only a modest fine, but she'll have a record.

Seems like a pretty clear cut case. She initiated physical contact and on top of that did so to spread an irritating chemical on another person.
