Disturbing Viral Video Seemingly Shows LA Officer Being Stalked Rattles Law Enforcement
Source: CBS LA
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) A disturbing video that seemingly shows an officer being stalked has the local law enforcement community on edge.
The footage, posted on social media, begins with a Los Angeles police officer getting out of his patrol car, followed by a shot of a handgun held by the person shooting the video. That individual was recording the video from inside a car parked behind the officer.
The video, which had gone viral, is enough for the wife of an L.A. police officer to think someone may be sending a threat. Its completely frightening, and I know that a lot of the wives are scared, she said.

This certainly doesn't help anything. Should be easy to figure out who posted this though.

ARE YOU AWARE OF THE SITUATION?
Well it happened to me again. I was starting my shift on the road with a stop for the bathroom and I made an embarrassing discovery. I put my long johns on backwards.

"Scared ya! Didn't I?"

If I didn't tell you it's airsoft, would you know it?

Anyone with a revolver and a video cam could do this.

(11,841 posts)I guess you'd have no problem with someone showing a video sitting outside your home holding a gun watching you mow the yard.

(17,469 posts)(somewhat clumsily) is that a policeman could have made it in order to create an uproar in support of the police.

Like the evidence of NBC weapons in Iraq, that the Patriot Act would lead to domestic spying and torture, that Joe Lieberman was a bad choice for VP and would sell the party out.
I can stand to be wrong.

(14,164 posts)This was my first thought as well.
With all the backlash against police abuse lately, some clever element in some police district coming up with this was almost inevitable.

(405 posts)Any teenager could borrow his dad's .38 magnum and take a video of himself doing this. Someone who really wants to shoot a cop will shoot the cop, not a video.

'Practise honesty and integrity, rescue the man who has been wronged from the hand of his oppressor: do not exploit the stranger, the orphan, the widow; do no violence; shed no innocent blood.' - Jer 22:3
At this time in America, an innocent, African American male of any age encountering a policeman in the street amounts to all of those oppressed unfortunates combined. A flip of a coin could make him 'dead meat'. There will be a reckoning in this life. As for the next life, the torment of their oppressors will have the added spice of being eternal. And that goes for the evil DA's, too.

Los Angeles police have made an arrest in connection with a video posted on social media showing a passenger in a vehicle flashing what appears to be a handgun while recording an officer exiting his patrol car.
The LAPD said the video was shot by a 1990s rap group as part of a comeback attempt. The group posted it on Instagram as a way of generating interest in their music. Police deemed it to be entertainment, not a threat. The name of the group was not released.
