Police: Man confesses to I-40 Road Rage Shooting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —A man has confessed to shooting and killing a 4-year-old girl during a road rage incident earlier this week, according to police.

A person of interest was detained around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday near Sunset and Central Avenue, police said.


Tony Torrez, 32, confessed to the killing and has been arrested, according to police.

Torrez has been charged with an open count of murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, child abuse, child abuse resulting in death and tampering with evidence.

and not enough of a conscience to drive the care he drove when he shot the kid. They got him in a Lexus with the driver's window bashed out, no word on whether he stole it.

I imagine everybody who knows him called in to cough him up. This was bad, even for a violent town like this one.

There was no artifice about them at all.

Hoping with all my heart they can and will find more peace when the shock wears off a bit. It was good to hear there have been people around them trying to be of help.

Thank you for the link. The photos of the little girl are beautiful, and painful, seeing her celebrating her fourth birthday.

Not for Mr. Torrez, but for the family who lost their child. I'm glad he was caught, but that's not going to bring back this little girl.

I can't understand this level of anger and violence against other beings for such senseless reasons.
