Sword Attack at Kronan School in Trollhattan Kills Teacher, Wounds 3

One teacher died and at least two students were injured when a masked man with a sword attacked a school in western Sweden, officials said Thursday.
Police in Trollhattan said the attacker had been shot.
The force initially said four students and one teacher had been injured at the Kronan School.
However, the hospital in Trollhattan said later it had received four severely injured patients: a teacher, two students — aged 11 and 15 — and the suspected attacker. It said that all were in surgery and that a teacher had died at the scene of the attack.
A police spokesman told NBC News that there was no information to suggest the attack was terrorism-related but noted that officials have "a lot of questions" and no idea yet of a possible motive.

Also this reasonably bizarre photo which is supposedly the assailant is also bouncing around twitter.
Pinch of salt, and all that.
Purportedly the guy turned up at the school in some sort of star-warsy cosplay complete with sword. The kids wanted to get photos with him (hence the odd image), then at some stage he flipped and started slashing people.
They still believe sweden is a city part of lakerol in the country of copenhagen which lies in the region of europe which is in denmark (yes i'm being sarcastic)
Don't worry, no one will learn geography from fox 
fox news probably wants it because Sweden has harsh gun and knife rules so they can do the 'regulation doesn't help'
and whilst i disagree with the laws (at least the knife one for public use (utility use)) i do agree with the one on school grounds (has been for longest time, "only knife allowed is in woodshop and cooking classes/home ec"

Swedish school worker killed trying to protect students in racial attack hailed as hero

Police are describing an attack on a school in Trollhättan, Sweden, that left two dead as a "hate crime." It certainly seems to have been designed to maximize fear – not only did the attack take place in an area with a high proportion of immigrants at a time of heightened concern about refugees, the attacker wore a Darth Vader-inspired costume while he attacked students and staff with a sword.
Whatever the intentions of the attacker, however, what's notable in the response to the attack is how much attention is being paid to his first victim, Lavin Eskandar, a 20-year-old teaching assistant at the school.
"He's a hero," one student who escaped the attack told Expressen newspaper.
According to number of eyewitness accounts, Eskandar had been in the school's cafeteria when the attack began. Eskandar stepped in to try to protect the students at the school, which teaches children as young as 6. He was stabbed by the attacker as he tried to overpower him, and died at the scene.
