Jeb Bush: My Brother's 9/11 Response Was 'Awe-Inspiring'

Source: Talking Points Memo:

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) again praised his brother's actions following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, describing President George W. Bush's leadership as "awe-inspiring."

"The case study of leadership is how George responded to 9/11, period, over and out," Jeb Bush told the audience at a Houston event for donors to Bush's campaign, according to The Hill. "And the idea that a candidate could think that they could make political hay to create a new … narrative on the reality on how he led is a joke."

During a conversation with his brother on stage, Jeb Bush applauded George W. Bush's efforts to unite the country.

"People were united. And people really got it that he had a heart for them," Bush said, according to The Hill. "At that time, as you know, kids were crying. All around people, children and grandchildren didn’t know what was going on."

Jeb is defending his brother's "leadership" as being "awe inspiring." And he qualified it by saying, "response to 9/11" as if that is all there was. Jeb thinks he can get away with that. Keeping it focused on a time directly after 9/11. The conversation that follows will be about the totality of his brother's leadership. If/when that conversation takes place, Jeb can take a long vacation from this job. No one in the puke party wants that conversation about the totality of that person's leadership.

I got to add something else. I thought for a moment this was from "The Onion." Talking Points Memo usually has accurate stories. It is taken from "The Hill" I suppose that is accurate too. Maybe this is Jeb's swan song. I don't know. But this was what happened. Here is the link from "The Hill"

Wed Oct 28, 2015, 04:39 PM
Oct 2015

Bush did not spring to announce an emergency because…He knew, and was waiting for the second plane to crash into the other tower.

Thus the beginning of the war drama, a media banquet elegantly loaded with commercial revenues jam packed with big time bonus bucks all delivered though the war profiteering cash cow Iraq/ Afghanistan new war.

It’s what the Republicans within their military industrial complex do best.

Now, and it took courage in that Tony Blair makes an apology on CNN. He knows the Intelligence was bad, thus declaring that with an open apology. The war was a mistake…

From my view the Intelligence likely was fraud. All this controversy in this time line, within the presidential elections is cycled away from Bush.

There are legions of the population that went along with this terrorist charade. Especially the media across the spectrum are from this time forward as criminal causing the illusion perpetuating the Bush family as doing the Right thing.

It would be a hoot for big time media people and wall-street people placed into internment camps.

When I say a lot of the population is involved in this psychotic terror plot to make money, it proves there are individuals insane, psychopathic, lunatic, mentally ill; mad, disturbed ...positioned in leadership roles.

Good example is Dennis Hastert, now we know a long time pervert as speaker of the house. Imagine all the legislation put through under his watch that is questionable, at least seven years’ worth.

Many can argue that half the country needs to be within an Internment Camp. Most of the western states especially Texas Rick Perry who does not know where first base is or can’t count to three.

George Herbert Walker Bush is named after a wealthy railroad investment financer close friends of Harriman that famous Nazi connection during world war two, likely part of what Eisenhower warned as the military industrial complex, in that Prescott Bush did profiteering in the highway system parallel with his railroad friends.

Also, Herbert Walker, Harriman, and Bush worked together to build Americas biggest railroad system the Union Pacific which is neglected and depreciated with important censured healthcare issues, has a footprint as the largest railroad in the western America. But always lobbying for free tax money yet delivers a constant dividend.

My point here is for the past decades it is known and written but completely suppressed by mainstream media and academia that the Bush family is and has been close friends and business partners with the Bin Laden family, thus begging the question did Bush commit treason?

An Iraq war crime investigation is required…

You can't re-write history to make it look like W didn't preside over the 9-ll attacks, especially such recent history.

Everyone knew that this Bush's highest hurdle to running was his fu_king last name and what to do about his brother's horrendous neglect, inattention to and then pooh-poohing of intelligence warning of Bin Ladin's intent to attack in America — and then the wars and devastating job loses and housing crisis and ruining of the economy and on and on and on — nobody but wants another Bush anywhere near the White House.

Deal with it Jeb.

Seriously, how smart is anyone in that family if they thought 7 years was enough time to forget all the crap?

Yep - good one!!!!

"People were united."

Yes they were - look at the votes he had from Congress regarding anything related to 9/11.

But what did "Dimson" do with that support?

Lied and let us go into a war that will take years and years to pay for, cost us support from allies, created more enemies, and killed thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands throughout the world.

And this jerk wants us to respect that and ask him to lead us onward?

It's unfortunate, but he was the POTUS at the time, and it is SOP to ensure his safety when there is a threat, just as it is SOP for the VP to go hide in a hole and be separate from the POTUS, for government continuity. This doesn't mean he wasn't a coward, just that the actions taken at the time do not necessarily reflect that.

I understand being grabbed by the secret service and being hauled out of danger, and having to keep safe, but he shut down. I remember seeing footage of him on a tarmac and he looked scared shitless. In no way was he plugged into the developments, he was flotsam at that point.

He was Commander in nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't have the wherewithal to ask for his own water in those hours.

won't be POTUS is that he keeps trying to rehab his brother's reputation. But Dim Son and Dim Bulb are both the same kind of spoiled rich brats that we all wanted to beat the shit out of in college. They have no sense of right and wrong but feel they are experts at the complexities of politics. May I suggest that Herr Bush go and shove a red hot poker up his behind and then shove it further until it comes out of his front anus/mouth? No one and I mean even his own fucking criminal family members want this turd elected for anything anymore. Fuck BUSH! ALL of them, even the next generation...wait, especially the next generation.

"All around people... didn't know what was going on" which included Dubya...

Despite having little or no respect for him, I really hoped the man would rise to lead--great events calling out greatness sort of thing---but the speech he finally gave when he came out from hiding was weak and he gave every appearance of being in WAY over his head. Then he attacked the wrong country and lied...and lied...and LIED.

Jeb, go home. Do all those exciting and fascinating things you could be doing instead of making a public ass of yourself. It's over.

Probably a reference to Shock and Awe. Did you all pick on what that "strategery" was all about? They began the attack before the deadline was up with the intention of killing Saddam in the first hour of the maneuver. They thought they were going to Pearl Harbor him. For support, they told all their inside pals, like religious leaders, that there would be no American blood spilled.

And Bush and Cheney were wrong. Everything after that was a "flying by the seat of their pants" reaction. And I'm still shocked by how easy it was to reach their supporters here in the U.S., who walked around like invading conquerors of their own country. They bullied anyone who was not on board with them, and if you were a PoC, you were given dirty looks just for walking in the room.

The undesired consequences of that era will be felt for decades to come.

His response to 9/11 was to blink and keep reading a story to elementary school children. That's not leadership, that's hiding so that Cheney can be in charge. He gathered up all the bin-ladens and had them flown out of the country and wouldn't let the FBI interrogate them - ??? Why would he do that? He started a war in Iraq using many different lies. He totally lost the country by minimalizing more than 1/2 the population (Sunni's) and let the Shia militias devastate them. He supported leaders that had lived in Iran for decades, giving Iran more influence there. Basically he blew it bad, both before and afterwards.

105. George W. Bush on 9/11: "But the day ended on a relatively humorous note."
Tue Oct 27, 2015, 08:32 PM
Oct 2015

Ladies Home Journal:

Peggy Noonan (the interviewer): You were separated on September 11th. What was it like when you saw each other again?

Laura Bush: Well, we just hugged. I think there was a certain amount of security in being with each other than being apart.

George W. Bush: But the day ended on a relatively humorous note. The agents said, “you’ll be sleeping downstairs. Washington’s still a dangerous place.” And I said no, I can’t sleep down there, the bed didn’t look comfortable. I was really tired, Laura was tired, we like our own bed. We like our own routine. You know, kind of a nester. I knew I had to deal with the issue the next day and provide strength and comfort to the country, and so I needed rest in order to be mentally prepared. So I told the agent we’re going upstairs, and he reluctantly said okay. Laura wears contacts, and she was sound asleep. Barney was there. And the agent comes running up and says, “We’re under attack. We need you downstairs,” and so there we go. I’m in my running shorts and my T-shirt, and I’m barefooted. Got the dog in one hand, Laura had a cat, I’m holding Laura —

Laura Bush: I don’t have my contacts in , and I’m in my fuzzy house slippers —

George W. Bush: And this guy’s out of breath, and we’re heading straight down to the basement because there’s an incoming unidentified airplane, which is coming toward the White House. Then the guy says it’s a friendly airplane. And we hustle all the way back up stairs and go to bed.

Mrs. Bush: And we just lay there thinking about the way we must have looked.

Peggy Noonan (interviewer): So the day starts in tragedy and ends in Marx Brothers.

George W. Bush: That’s right — we got a laugh out of it.

NEVER FORGET THIS.

Honestly, is Jebbie on drugs or something? It doesn't exactly take a genius to realize that Dubya's response to 9/11 was nothing short of idiotic. I mean, the man started a pointless and bloody war over false pretenses in Iraq, which helped to created the volatile situation that we're still struggling to deal with. All in all, the Bushes have screwed up everything they've touched, which is why they need to be kept well away from office.

He should have shut any discussion thereof down from day one, and he should refuse to be drawn in to stupid, irrelevant battles about it. He should neither defend nor debate in any way GWB's actions. Bush II should be the previous Republican president and only the previous Republican President.

I can't imagine why he keeps debating what his brother did. Hilary does not spend her time debating Obama except where it suits her. Jeb is getting hopeless entangled in a mess he should have simply walked around.
