The Latest: Bundy, Others Face New Counts in Oregon Standoff

Source: ABC

Dozens of armed occupiers who took over a national wildlife refuge in Oregon have been indicted on additional charges.

An indictment unsealed Wednesday reveals new counts against group leader Ammon Bundy and more than two dozen other defendants who were indicted last month on a federal conspiracy charge.

A grand jury indicted Bundy and most of his co-defendants on a charge of firearms possession in a federal facility, and some of those people face another weapons charge.

Three members of the occupation are accused of stealing government property. Two others are charged with damaging an archaeological site deemed sacred to the Burns Paiute Tribe.

Federal conviction comes with immediate and permanent loss of the right to bear arms.

Which means, once the judge finds them guilty a big truck full of federal agents will come to their houses and pick up all their Donald Trumps.

Meanwhile, as others said, it has absolutely zero to do with the charges against the others.

Meanwhile, the question below about murder charges due to the death occurring during commission of a felony by these others ... well that will be interesting to see.

What about the Felony Murder Law? I know California has one, and a quick google shows Oregon has something similar. Essentially, if someone dies because you committed a felony, even if it was an accident like a cop running over a pedestrian, then you are guilty of murder. If the cops shoot your partner-in-crime to death, you can be charged with murder. Since this was a conspiracy, does that make everyone involved potentially guilty of murder?

Cliven Bundy children: Ammon Bundy, Ryan Bundy, Bailey Logue (female), Dave Bundy, Cliven Lance Bundy, Mel Bundy, Shiree Bundy-Cox (female), Lillie Spencer (female).

"As of now, the 69-year-old Nevada rancher and four of his sons, Ammon, 40, Ryan, 43, Melvin, 41; and David, 39, and 14 other men are now accused of involvement in the “massive armed assault against federal law enforcement officers” that occurred near the Bundy Ranch in Nevada in April 2014." https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2016/03/04/19-defendants-face-charges-roles-bundy-gang

Cliven Lance Bundy was already in prison by the time the wildlife refuge occupation began.

Such an upright family!

not say my peace in this case.

Duers must get off their lazy tail feathers and educate themselves about the federal government land grab for treasury purposes or as collateral toward federal debt to foreign countries, until then, I only add this admonition: someday you will see these "unlawful" citizens, country bumpkin gun humper 2nd amendment advocates by your standards, as canaries in the coal mines.

I no longer have the energy to fight ignorance. Clue: Hammonds and Bundys last stands have a common demoninator and it has nothing to do with turtles or birds. EOM...and that's a promise.

Also: read up on Agenda 21

Hammonds and Bundy gang were making a peaceful protest that they just happened to bring guns to? That's the line I've seen at 'other' kinds of sites.

Sheriffs are the supreme law officers and outrank FBI?

Read Glenn Beck's novel "Agenda 21"? No thanks.

When people with guns overrun Bureau of Land Management land of course "BLM brought guns".

Otherwise, the other BLM, Black Lives Matter, has nothing to do with Bundys who are fighting the Feds land arm, not African-Americans. When people say "They're doing it way over there, so we can break the law too", it doesn't work. That approach seems reminiscent of elementary school yards.

I am not as ignorant as you hope, and this should be obvious by the oblique references I made. What I was hoping for was something other than the "feds bad guys, UN taking over, Agenda 21 spooky woo" stuff I read on 'other' sites. I was hoping for something from a Progressive viewpoint.
