Clinton Gains with Women, Democrats
As Trump Struggles on Temperament Hillary Clinton has advanced among women and consolidated support within her party since her nominating convention, while a difficult few weeks have left Donald Trump still struggling on basic ratings from his temperament to his qualifications for office. She leads him by 8 points in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll.
Trumps ratings in general havent worsened they just havent improved since he claimed the Republican nomination. And the trouble list is long: Seventy-nine percent of Americans say he doesnt show enough respect for people he disagrees with, 70 percent express anxiety about a Trump presidency, 67 percent think he lacks the personality and temperament it takes to serve effectively, 64 percent doubt his understanding of world affairs, 63 percent see him unfavorably overall, 62 percent say hes not honest and trustworthy, 61 percent think hes unqualified for office and 60 percent think hes biased against women and minorities.
On his handling of his dispute with the Khans, parents of a fallen Muslim-American captain in the U.S. Army: Seventy-three percent disapprove, including 59 percent of Republicans.

(14,708 posts)How can they be that out of step? Are they wrong or is everyone else?
I know, don't look at individual polls, look at the averages.
But really, outliers matter. What is up with them?

(108,976 posts)Neither does Reuters, and I don't like that "poll" either.
Both use their own online panels, and because of their methods can't report a statistical "margin of error." Sometimes Reuters will still report results that look good, so it will be tempting to believe them. But I try not to.

(7,018 posts)attacking their own prime candidate, and it is rumored that they are attempting to replace
Trump with someone else. I hear some Republicans are going to vote for Hillary.
How much more help can anyone get?

(4,490 posts)The George Zimmermans of the U.S., some misogynists, and hardcore anti-Castro Cubans mad at Prrsident Obama's Cuba policy. Throw in a few people who are just that stupid to vote for Trump based on his "outsider" status, and maybe a couple looking forward to the human trafficking profits of getting people past his wall...
I still think the number is too high :-P

(21,745 posts)He must not only discredit Clinton, he must rehabilitate himself in the eyes of the voters.
Every day, every speech, every interview, every press conference is now about him. And there is no longer room for discrediting his opponent.
While this may feed the Beast that is his ego, it will not win the election for him.
The Clinton team must be laughing as they watch this play out. All you have to do to control this clown is to provoke him, ignore him, slight him in some way and he is in your pocket with his predictable over reactions.

Ironically, the best strategy for the Clinton campaign is to bully him.

(22,669 posts)What does it take? He's insulted them. He's insulted us. He's insulted our allies. The ideas coming from his head are a word salad. He mocks veterans. He hates on our military, pisses on its traditions. Hates women and babies. Doesn't care for republicans. Doesn't care for democrats.
Am I missing something? WHO THE FUCK IS STILL SUPPORTING HIM! Trolls who live under a bridge?
Actually, I know why it shows a closer race than what would otherwise be expected. The surveys can only reach people who are willing to take pollster calls, which leaves out a lot of people who've unplugged the TV & telephone.

(22,669 posts)Probably with law enforcement, but maybe not for voting if they're felons. Imagine all the yelling and all the hate and they can't do anything about it?

(14,708 posts)If we start and build up the meme that the gop is intentionally ratfking trump. We can probably build their anger to the point where they will only support the top of the ticket, and leave downballot races blank.
It wouldn't take much. They are already a tinderbox of paranoia and conspiracy believers. Not even a lit match. Just a good breeze and boom, they will light up.
ffr
(22,669 posts)Gonna have to use your line about them being a tinderbox.
You've given this some thought.

would be no doubts about the winner come November.
8 POINTS ??!!
I'm from Massachusetts. I still get dry heaves when I recall that Scott Brown
(another phony, half-wit palooka) beat A.G. Martha Coakley (the supposed
shoe-in dem candidate in solidly blue state) to win Ted Kennedy's Senate seat.
The game ain't over 'till it's over.
