I think it was Eugene Robinson, what could Trump do or say that would possibly interest AA voters into giving him a second look or change their attitudes about him. Robinson being African American, said nothing, but Joe kept pushing him and he came up with 3 possible changes..... 1. Talk directly to African Americans not just about them to white audiences, 2. hire a more diverse campaign staff, and forcefully and completely disavow the KKK, David Duke and Alt Right Nazis and say he does not want or desire their support..
