Assange supporters fear assassination attempt after Ecuadorian embassy broken-into

August 24, 2016 03:41 IST

Supporters of Julian Assange fear an assassination attempt was made on the Wikileaks founder after an intruder scaled the walls of his Ecuadorian Embassy hideout in London.

Ecuador on Tuesday expressed concern over the "inadequate" response from the British authorities to the incident at the embassy, which has been Assange's home for over four years.

An official statement from Ecuador said: "The Ecuadorian government expresses its concern about the inadequate response by the British authorities, who only arrived at the embassy more than two hours after the incident took place.

"The government of Ecuador regrets that, despite the enormous resources that the British government has undertaken to prevent Julian Assange leaving the Ecuadorian embassy, the authorities did not respond more quickly to this extremely serious attempt an unauthorised entry," the statement said.

Fans of Wikileaks founder blame America following security breach after site said it would release “a lot more” documents to surprise voters ahead of election

Ecuador has blasted British security forces after an intruder scaled the walls of its Embassy in London last night.

Fans of Julian Assange feared an assassination attempt was made against the Wikileaks founder following the security breach.

People panicked after Wikileaks revealed that an unknown man had climbed the building where Assange has been holed-up for four years.

Police are now hunting for the suspect after he fled when he was confronted by security guards.

Because they DID leak it. I don't think there's a rational explanation aside from the fact that rapist antisemite Assange is an asshat. As at his ardent defenders and apologists.

Instead what really happened is he slept with some under aged girls and got caught. Government agencies didn't have to lift a finger, he did this all to himself.

The Ecuadorian embassy is not located in a free-standing town house situation, that often comes to mind when you hear the term 'embassy'. Rather, it uses a 3 bedroom apartment, in a building with 129 apartments. It's a six story building, but the embassy is located on the ground floor, front left. You can see it here in Street View: https://goo.gl/maps/1TQMMJKHfjP2 There's a flag of Ecuador by their window. (The Colombia embassy is also there, at the opposite end.&quot

The article said: an unknown man scaled the side wall (and the) window of the Ecuadorian embassy in London; fled after being caught by security. Did the would-be intruder climb up onto that window box thing? It looks to be 6-8 ft up from the sidewalk. (I wouldn't exactly call that scaling.)

All in all, a bit hyperbolic, especially since the quote says this was an 'attempted' unauthorized entry, not a successful one. And it could just as well have been a photographer for National Enquirer.

I mean, I would think the Marines would handle an intruder trying to scale the walls of an American embassy themselves.

Everything is all about him...

Evidently the Ecuadorians think pointing the finger at the Met is enough to shield the fact that they failed to secure their own embassy?

So where is this intruder now? Has he been questioned? Charged?

Since Assange in his most recent interview did all but accuse Hillary of murdering a staffer to prevent him from leaking, I don't know why this guy has any credibility left.
