Hillary Clinton has 44% to Donald Trumps 42%, with Libertarian Gary Johnson backed by 8%, according to Monmouth University Poll.
N.C., with 15 electoral votes, has given us tight presidential races over the last two cycles and this year appears to be no different, said Patrick Murray, polls director
NOTE: President Obama carried state in 2008 by three-tenths of a percent, lost it in 2012 by 2 ppts
Senate race also tight, with Republican Sen. Richard Burr, leading Democrat Deborah Ross, 45%-43%
